Fantastic Cosmo!! That wrinkle patent lasts much better than the smooth patent too. Tres chic.

I love it Cosmo!!! It's beautiful!!!

Thank you friends! :hugs:

I agree about the patent. Back in my YSL days I owned several wrinkled patent bags similar to this leather. They wore very well and were relatively resistant to fingerprints too. Even though this new black Mademoiselle is fancier than my grey one, it actually seems a bit more worry-free to me because it's not a big deal if a drop of water falls on the patent, it'll just wipe off.

Congrats, Cosmo! It's beautiful! The patent leather makes it even more chic and that perforation on the shorter strap is a great added detail!

Wonderful new purchase! The Mademoiselle must be working very well for you and that is so important for us bag lovers. Love the details on this one.

Thank you and good morning to my LC buddies half way around the world! I know this patent/fur style isn’t suitable for your warm climates but it’s great for U.S. east coast winters. ;)

Yes the Mademoiselle style is working well for me. It’s a smaller bag but very wide so it holds a lot, and the two straps make it so versatile. Looking ahead to the LC spring bags like the Sur Seine and mini Madeleine, I just realized I’d rather have another Mademoiselle. So I jumped on this black with silver hardware before they’re all gone—it’s nearly sold out worldwide.

Thank you and I hope you’re enjoying your cognac Mademoiselle! :flowers:

Thanks! I actually have not been using it much lately because I feel like the cognac color is three seasons but not four. It doesn’t feel like a winter bag to me (plus the bag is too small for my hat and gloves). Also, the clasp is a PITA — so much that I have a mind to go in and see if they are all that way or if mine is particularly difficult. Do you find the clasp on your Mademoiselles to be easy to use? I really love everything about the bag except that clasp!

Good evening or night Cosmo! All thanks to TPF, I am grateful to having found like minded ladies all over the world and being able to communicate and share via this platform. You are exactly right that patent and fur won't work that well in our tropical climate but it is so nice to be able to live vicariously through you and others whom can wear these styles... (sidetracking a bit, I was admiring the photos you posted of the Penélope bucket bag in the other thread and so tempted with the khaki green but suede won't do well here too [emoji30]).

I had been looking at the Mademoiselle and it really is a charming bag. Everything about it works. Dual handles, flap cover, generous space... since it works for you, it makes sense to get another one and imho, you got a very different one too. I noticed the silver hardware straight away when I saw your pictures and thought Great Score, Cosmo. These silver hardware bags are so rare.

I understand what you’re saying about the clasp. I’ve gotten more used to it. No, it’s not as easy to get into the bag as it would be if it were a zip or a magnetic button, but I don’t find it that difficult. The back exterior pocket for quick phone access really helps. Maybe you should take yours to your boutique for them to look over or give you some pointers on opening?

As an aside I tried out the Madeleine clasp IRL today for the first time and hated it. Way more difficult than the Mademoiselle. Plus the bag is heavy because of the thick bull leather. A no for me.

Yes exactly that’s why I decided to jump on this. The spring Mademoiselles (in leather) all have gold hardware.

Btw as a fellow green lover I will note that I saw today in the spring bible that there’s a khaki Mademoiselle coming out.

A Khaki Mademoiselle? [emoji7] Do you think it looks relatively close to the type of khaki like the Penélope?

I do like the mini Madeline but note in your post above that the clasp is a challenge. I already had to fiddle with the Mademoiselle opening in the boutique for some time before my SA stepped in to assist and agree it does take some time to get used to.

Yes, I will bring it it — maybe tomorrow, since I also want to see the sale items. I really love the bag — both the design and the details — so if they can give me a tip on the clasp to make it easier, that would be great.

That’s interesting about the Madeleine. I thought the clasp was just a snap under the silver bar/logo thing, so to hear it’s difficult to use is disappointing. I’ve gone back and forth on this bag but was withholding judgment until I could see it it IRL. If the clasp is a pain AND it’s heavy, well, that’s going to be a no for me as well. Thanks for the info!

Yes from the illustration it looked like a dark olive green with gold hardware. I’m guessing some of the dark brown-looking Mademoiselles I’ve posted in the spring thread are actually khaki because the color typically doesn’t photograph well in insufficient lighting.
