YAY! And it would be the same price as the caviar? Cos when I bought it, the SA told it me was calfskin (she used e word calfskin, not caviar)!? :confused1:

The Y01480 code usually stands for lambskin (with silver hardware). But maybe they have changed it recently, I'm not sure. Lambskin feels and looks very soft, calfskin looks/feels very smooth and also kinda soft and caviar feels/looks pebbled (pebbled calfskin).

Thanks for your help. I guess it should be lambskin then. At least I hope it is! Lambskin is usually more expensive than the caviar/calf ones right?

I've only seen items made in Italy or France. It used to be that the classics were mostly made in France and seasonal bags were made in Italy, or at least that is what I notice from my own personal experience. Now I have seen seasonal bags made in France and flaps made in Italy. I'm not sure how they determine what will be made where.

My 11p red m/l was made in France, but my 11C brown jumbo was made in Italy, same as my OOV m/l black caviar flap and OOV GST.

I tracked down a single flap before the increase....which I was totally happy about...after the navy maxi search ended in a bust. It came yesterday, but I was out of town. I looked it over today...no problems....but I just realized it's made in Italy. UGH

All of my other flaps are made in France. I thought all classics were made in France.... Should this be a deal breaker? I could just get a double flap...but I really wanted the single...since they aren't made anymore.

Also, it's shiny caviar. I thought the classic colors didn't follow the seasonal caviar, but I guess they do.

Someone talk me off the ledge or encourage me to jump!

i bought two 11p red maxi, one for me and one for a friend
i realized that one is actually made in france, and one is made in italy

IMO they both come from chanel with same production standard and quality control procedure... although i do feel that they need to tighten this quality control measure with the increase of the price...

but made in france or italy... both red maxi is equally beautiful... so we dont really put too much attention on it :)

oline 2 red maxis!!!! WOW! Good for you!

Thanks for the input! I know I will keep it, but it stressed me out.

Keep the opinions coming! I know there are those here who think the production in France is at a higher standard....

EP - I doubt it will keep me from enjoying it, but I could see saying "I told you so" to myself if anything goes wrong.

sometimes just has no choice though like my red patent 10C single flap jumbo, all of them at that time were made in italy which i like the color so much even it iwas not made in France but i still kept it.

yeap... hunting 11p red maxi alone is already a nightmare... let alone hunting 11p red maxi made in france...
but after i got the maxi.. now all my friend said that jumbo is more suitable to me... *sigh*

well IMO as long as you inspect the bag and you found no issue with it... and you love the colour and everything... then i'd say you keep the bag....

i do heard stories about deteriorating quality. m normally never really inspect my bags... but i think i should start... really hope the increase of quality should go in hand with the price increase...

So far, I have two bags in my collection - a black jumbo caviar GHW and a black GST SHW. When I got the jumbo, it was made in Italy so I was hoping my GST would be from France but turns out that one was from Italy also.

It's not what I hoped for cuz I just wanted one from France since that's the newbie thing to want (in my opinion..ahhaa). To be honest, I'm still kinda bummed but Italy is known for their crafty people so I'm getting over it. After all, as long as the quality is good, I don't think it really matters. I guess it's kinda like having a Made in USA bag from LV. It kinda sucks but it's not a deal breaker.:graucho:
