Honestly I think LV is being too petty with this.. what about Kanye who used the LV monogram on his album cover, and continuously refers to him being the "louis vuitton don" in his lyrics?
My thoughts exactly! Spear's MV is not definitely not the first one to feature cars w/LV interior, or LV handbag (Jessica Simpson's MTV show feature MC pieces, Laguna Beach with LV anyone??) why her MV is the only one get sued? Give her a break.
I personally think that this suit is ridiculous! If anything, they benefited by the free promotion.
So why hasn't LVMH sued a gazillion rappers by now??! Seriously.
Just my honest opinion. I'm not a huge Britney fan, but I don't think that this was very fair.

I think maybe one reason why they do this to her is that she is much much more famous on an international scale than those rappers. She's almost like McDonalds, Cola and Madonna, she gets tons of expose across the globe. You'll find her in the top ten not only in charts of western Europe and North america, but also in Japan, eastern europe, south america and south east asia, basically everywhere there's music. Many of the rappers aren't really that famous outside of the US and definetly do not have the same selling power.
I agree she's human, but her name and products are not. The brand Britney Spears is not a human being honestly, and it's through that brand this video is being exposed. Britney's personal life as a human being is a totally different matter though, and that's what's been violated a lot recently. Think about it as Louis Vuitton. It's a brand, but carries the name of the late founder of the company.

Kanye West and Fergie both used AUTHENTIC Louis Vuitton items in their video. Britney used counterfeit crap. That is the difference!

Louis Vuitton wins Spears video lawsuit
PARIS - Luxury goods maker Louis Vuitton has won a lawsuit that alleged a Britney Spears music video violated counterfeiting laws by showcasing a pink Vuitton-upholstered dashboard.
A Paris civil court ordered Sony BMG and MTV Online to stop broadcasting or marketing the video for "Do Something" in any form and fined them 80,000 euros ($117,000) apiece, a spokeswoman for Paris-based Louis Vuitton said Monday. The ruling was handed down last week.
In the opening scenes of the video, Spears appears in the driver's seat of a hot pink Hummer floating on make-believe clouds. One shot shows fingers drumming on a dashboard covered with what looks like Vuitton's "Cherry Blossoms" design: dark pink blossoms on a pale pink, weblike background, embossed with the "LV" logo.
The court did not find Spears herself guilty but ruled that Sony BMG and MTV Online were guilty of violating counterfeiting laws. The ruling said the video constituted an "attack" on Louis Vuitton's brands and its luxury image, the spokeswoman said.
It was not immediately clear how the ban would be enforced, or whether the companies would appeal.
MTV declined to comment on the ruling. Sony BMG did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The video was still on YouTube and other music Web sites visible in France on Monday. On a few sites, however, links to the video led to a blank screen, or one reading, "This video is no longer available."
Louis Vuitton, whose signature handbags are a prime target of counterfeiters worldwide, has fought vigorously through French and other courts to protect its trademark goods.

oh, didn't know it's counterfit, but what about Paris' famous counterfit LV? That MC pap....not a fan of Spears, but just don't think it's fair to target her when there's others doing the same thing way prior.
