I've gotten 2 thank you cards. The 1st was the very first bag I bought and the 2nd card was from a different LV store all together. I don't know either sa. I don't even remember if they were male or female. I would think any good sales assosciate would send thank yous just for the simple fact that if the customer were to return they would remember that and ask for that particular one.

i've only gotten 1 thank you card from the LV retail store in Caesar's Palace, NV. The other time I've gotten a catalog from LV in Beverly Center.

From my experience, I think it is more about your relationship with your SA and how much you spend. Maybe the whole image thing is a factor as well, but not a big one. I dress in jeans & sneakers 24/7 and my mom has absolutely no sense of style at all...yet we still receive gifts, invites, catalogues, and holiday cards from our SA who bends over backwards to get us the pieces we want. Perhaps we just get the VIP perks but are not actual VIPs

I am a VIP/VIC at LV and have been for quite some time. I get invites and VIP gifts for the last few years. I truly believe it has more to do with your relationship with certain SAs than it does how much you spend. It also helps to know more than the SAs do. There are many times I have called LV before I have went in to ask if they knew about certain things coming out, and they said they would have to research it. Even at LV 5th Ave, they had no idea some things were even made. I always make them go check books and in the stock room to be sure. Anyway, sucking up to SAs are the way to go. I won't give away my secrets, but every once in a while, give them a nice gift of appreciation. It's always nice to be appreciated and not always out to get something for free. Treat people like you want to be treated. I bet if you take your favorite SA flowers (get to know their birthdays), you get pushed up to VIP status pretty quickly.

Agree:yes::yes: with treating people the way you want to be treated and showing appreication. I don't believe it has anything to do with "How you look" :flowers:

You're right that it's not about a set amount that you spend.

But it's also not about having a relationship with an SA.

You basically get selected when you fit the clientele type they are looking for. They'll see you, you can't just 'work' your way into the title.

Sorry, but if you just doesn't 'have the look' then really being 'nice' with your SA is cool and all, but it doesn't mean much.:push:

Totally not true:rolleyes:

it may not be completely about how you look, but seriously, you have to notice that attractive or very stylish people get better treatment than others... And since LV is a luxury brand, it would make sense that they would want attractive people to carry and promote their line. I mean, take me, I buy certain items only because I see celebrities or attractive people with them. It just a cheap marketing trick that's been around forever. Cause who doesn't want to look and appear glam?

Yah, I agree. It has a lot to do with your relationship and if you are a repeat client.

It's not only about how you look! Even if you dressed like a complete slob but went in there consistently dropping thousands, you could become VIP. If there's one requirement it's being a repeat client that continually gives them business (i.e. money).

At my work, we don't have such thing as VIP/VIC. We do, however, stay open and open early for special guests that spend thousands of dollars. It's a combination of your Sales Associate and your personality. Someone who is rude and complaining is not going to have the store opened early for them to privately shop. Now say you come in every month, treat the SA nicely and drop 10K...your gold :)

This is something I've been wondering....how much do you have to spend (lets say in the course of a year) to be considered a VIP?

It would take giving me 25 grand and I will consider you a very big VIP:yes:.
just kidding..
Honestly it varies from store to store, mgmt and your sa. Everyone has a different view on what it takes to become a VIC which is really what it is called now (very important client) that if you do a search you will find numerous threads on this subject.:flowers:

Yeah I honestly don't know. I've bought a LOT of pieces from LV (same store, for the most part too) and I just recently got my first, and hopefully not last, VIP gift. I've recently started dealing more with the manager since my store tends to have a really high turnover rate with the SAs so I've dealt with pretty much all the SAs there since Danica left.
