Should all LV brass padlocks have a lock number on the bottom of the padlock and on the key? A very kind friend has given me a replacement lock she said she's had for ages for my Alma after my daughter 'misplaced' the lock after 'borrowing' my bag (guess who got a months grounding LOL). The new lock doesn't have any numbers on the bottom just the lock hole and 2 small holes on either side of it (almost like tiny screw holes?). The key looks odd as well and doesn't have any number on it.
I don't want to insult my friend by asking if this is genuine, but I don't want to put this on my lovely bag if it's fake.
I contacted LV customer services via their website about replacing the lock but never had a response (poor show LV). I think I'll have to take the bag into a store to get one.
