I haven't bought that way but I just wanted to add, every time I use my citibank card online through overseas sites they have trouble authorising it. If I use my westpac MasterCard, I have no issues. For some reason citibank cards have issues when using them on a site for the first time. They always have to perform checks on it which sometimes involves refunding a small amount and me confirming the amount etc. I try to use my other card where possible to avoid these delays.

Sorry, im trying to get my head around this all... does this mean buying overseas and getting it shipped over would still be just as expensive due to gst and customs charges? The fact that the dollar is so strong right now really doesnt encourage one to buy lv since the usd and euro prices are just depressingly and significantly cheaper :(

WE SUCK :'(

Hi shangvillaruel, I was hesitating in buying locally as well but the bags I want are over $2000 USD and given the fact that I use a mail forwarding service means $2000+ services+postage+ tax from LV store to mail forwarder(8.5 percent or something)+ GST upon arrival(as it is too risky to not claim the value in case the bag goes missing)...

I will still end up saving a bit of money $100-200 but I don't think it's really worth it for the extra hassles(change of mind or whatsoever!)

Hope that helps!

Hi guys usually am an Chanel lurker but thought i'd pop in and put my 2cents in..today i decided to get the stephen sprouse leopard scarf..and i paid 1060 for it!!

Hi, I just rang the 1300 number and requested for the price of a Rosewood (Vernis) and it is now $1320 from $1400.

The CS who helped me said they had a price decrease 3 days ago. The new price for the Rosewood is about 5.7% decrease.

If we use the US price for the Rosewood which is $960 (without tax) as comparison, it looks like LV is using the exchange rate of 0.80 to 1 AUD. So USD 960 divided by 0.80 is AUD 1200 plus 10% GST = AUD 1,320.

I just spent $6000 last Wednesday afternoon and disappointed they didn't advise me to wait two days when they know I am very good customer and always spend big (well DH does for me).

Anyway, rang up this afternoon and got some prices:

Sarah Vernis $895
Speedy 30 (Damier/Mono) $940
Neverfull MM (Damier/Mono) $935

Also there is nothing left in Rose Pop and only a few items remaining in Pomme (discontinued). Ordered a Pomme wallet last week and hoping it arrives by Wednesday!

Hi Dozzaroo,

Do you know roughly then how much extra you'd have to fork out for say a bag that was USD$1000.00 or $1500?

I know that under a grand you don't have to pay anything but over a grand you do. And how do you pay it then? I know with a few bags I purchased, they were under a grand so I simply had the guy deliver them to the door. But if you're paying over $1000.00, what happens then?

And what is this mail forwarding address you mention btw?
