Hey this might b a bit late but i tried on the speedy 35 today (loved it) and it was $990 after the price increase last week.

LV Australia is not stupid. I think they will adjust the price to cover the currency fluctuation..but that will be unfair to the local....i remembered my friend got me a viktor when the aud/sgd was about 1.22...even at that rate i got a saving of a couple of hundreds. not bad for a brand that have no sales.

With the rate at 1.03, i reckon it will be a good time to buy LV from australia and even NZD!! favorable exchange rate plus VAT rebate! woo hoo!

I was told Damier NF was due around the end of the year from an SA this week, possibly before Christmas, I'd guess Dec 15 as a few other things are being launched that day.

I'm going to HK and SG, do you think i should buy a bag in Syd and claim the tax back? I'm pretty sure given the current exchange rate, it's about the same price as SG, but i don't know about HK prices.....

^^ logic i think you should be better off buying here, claim the GST back than to buy is from SG or HK

my girlfriends just bought a bunch because HK works out to be about 18% more expensive than here even before tax.

Thankyou guys! I noticed that alot of cool stuff are sold out in Syd. It's not like before when you can walk into an LV store and guarantee the piece u want is in stock. I guess so many ppl are buying here nowadays!

I was hoping HK would be cheaper - cos u know if u buy something whilst on holidays then there's no guilt.

Hiii I just bought my first LV at Gold Coast, Australia the other day. It was a mono speedy 35 but I havent been able to use it since its been raining here in Brisbane =[

Just a question, I wasn't given a box with my speedy..Is this normal for Australia (I see tpf-ers overseas get boxes)? My friend who buys LV says shes never been given a box either but I really want a box for the sake of it lol

Can I go to the Brisbane LV and ask for a box? I don't live on the Gold Coast so I dont want to drive back there.

I purchased a messenger bag at the Melbourne LV while on vacation a while back and was given a box--granted I had to ask. From my experiences, SLGs automatically come with a box, but with bags, you have ask. You should be able to go into the Brisbane store with your receipt and ask for a box. Other TPFers have done this before.

yeah from my experience and my girlfriends' experiences, you always have to ask, i dont know why but they will happily give you one if you ask, but if you dont they just wont give it to you.

I also find that their 'boxes' level are constantly quite low because once my SA has to go to their 'store room' to get boxes then the next time they ran out on my girlfriend but they were happy for us to go to another store to get it.

unlikely HK is cheaper as USD as appreciate much over the last 2-3 months...the best place now will be Australia and perhaps even New Zealand.

i have bought LV from both places and its still a saving after less the tax..and that is when AUD and NZD were still relatively high as compared to now.
