LV Diane Bag

I want to post a small update of my Diane after using it for about 2 months. I use it on rotation with a few other bags, not everyday usage. There were many occasions where I was caught in heavy rain with Diane and I get a little paranoid over the Vachetta trims. I do try to wipe off the rain splatter asap when I’m back indoors after being in the rain. So far, there isn’t any water marks on the Vachetta trims maybe because of the treated leather as LV claims. I found slight scuff marks on some parts of the Vachetta trims of the flap from the D-rings where you hook the strap. Also at a spot where I didn’t expect, maybe due to colour transfer from colours. Other than the Vachetta trims having scuff marks, nothing else is showing any wear.

Scuff marks and slight dents where the D-rings are “lifted” when you hook the straps to carry the bag. The photo may not show the dents well

next is a real scuff mark probably from clothings colour transfer, or something. No idea how it got there. It’s lightly scuff, not too bad

Finally, when you use the back zipper pocket on the inside of the bag, it pops out a little on the back. It’s still possible to use the back slip pocket even with the popping

It’s best to fill up the bag so that it’s easier to snap the magnetic closure. When it’s too empty, you need to fuddle a little to snap-close it. I think it’s similar to pochette Métis in this magnetic snap closure. Not a big deal because the bag is considered a small bag, it fills up pretty quick. The good thing about this bag is the spacious width, unlike PM, it can fit any SLG within the whole space while a PM can only fit slim-width items or the bag would poke out weirdly.

I’m really looking at wears of the bag with a magnifying glass and that’s all I could find. Canvas area looks perfect. I saw a YouTuber review this bag, she mentioned the buckle would stick out whenever you open and close the flap. Mine too. But I haven’t remove the protective plastic on the hardware of the buckle, so I always thought that might be the cause of the middle sticking out. 18EBE2D7-B657-4258-A4A6-A019426BFBFD.jpeg
All the points I mentioned are not deal-breakers. Just small imperfections that I can live with. Overall I still love the bag. I know most people don’t seem to like the woven strap and preferred the shorter leather leather. I’m the odd ball because I’m short enough for the bag to sit nicely when worn crossbody. I exclusively use the woven strap on crossbody. I keep the leather strap away as I don’t see the need to bring the shorter strap out when I don’t even use it.

I :heart::heart: my Diane but the buckle sticking out is my ONE gripe. If I pull down the bottom piece with the snap part the buckle will sit flat again, but after a while it always shifts and pops back out. I haven't found a way to keep the two pieces from shifting either, nothing that doesn't involve somehow tacking them together and I don't want to risk damaging the vachetta with tape or whatever :/

I received my Diane bag yesterday. I ordered it online in the States because I have been unable to find it in Europe where I was for a month on vacation. Every store was out of stock. I was told by the SA in Cologne (Koln) that at least 25 people per day come in asking for the Diane bag. The store in Budapest said that they had a long wait list for it. I wanted to purchase it in Europe to save some money, but I am very happy with my bag. It is a keeper. The short strap is great, and the guitar strap fits me perfectly and is very comfortable. I still plan to get a vachetta adjustable strap for more options. This bag is perfect for me. I chose the fuchsia color. I did manage to get a card case in fuchsia while I was in Prague to match the bag. And I purchased the Recto Verso Card Holder in Munich. I forgot to bring my passport with me to the Munich store, so I did not get the VAT discount.
I wish I had this bag while I was on vacation because it is everything I wanted in a new bag.

Have you checked to see if your buckle was attached properly? I had my Diane bag for a week before I noticed that my buckle was placed on backward. I should have taken a pic. I took it back to my local LV and they exchanged it with no problem. The buckle now sits as it should. I'll add a pic of how the buckle is supposed to look.

Oh wow, can't believe that made it out of the factory. Mine's definitely on the right way though, it looks just like your pics. I did take it back to the store to ask them if there's any way to make it stop shifting, they said it's just the design of the buckle and it's gonna move around sometimes b/c it's two pieces. I ended up using a teensy piece of 3M double-sided tape between the pieces to make it stay put. No damage to the vachetta, can't see the tape and it doesn't shift anymore :)

Well, I am happy to know that your buckle was not on backward! I will use your tip if I need to. Thanks!
