I totally know what you mean. I never got the original though so it was still fun for me to get it now. Do you still have yours? I didn’t get to see the denim nano speedy today but I have a feeling it’s really cute IRL. I don’t think they had that in the original denim collection did they? I know they did some bags with the same pocket on the front.

I was super excited for the denim collection but after seeing it- I’m not impressed. Like others have mentioned it already feels “dated”. I was 99% positive I’d be adding the nano speedy + backpack but between the poor quality and buckles/studs the collection is a fail for me. Everything felt cheap and almost fake..?

On the positive side(heh) I fell in love with the new Side Trunk size! This was not on my radar at all but the PM size is perfect for me and the quality is lovely. Getting one next week:angel:

My god. Couldn’t agree more…hate the guitar straps. Wish we got to choose, I wouldn’t mind paying more to choose to go with a leather or different strap. I have not once used my guitar straps on any of the bags. I want the speedy b 20 in DE but I haven’t gotten it ONLY because I’m sick of the guitar strap that I will never use.

But listen carefully. I bet you'll never find anything about this on the website, Vuitton will never officially state this in writing. They only released it as a rumour. And that is not legally binding. Which is exactly the point. 5 years from now nobody can go to court saying "but Foxy posted that this time it's gonna be different".
I am sure they did their best to try to make them as durable as possible, but at the end of the day it is still just clear PVC. It will turn yellow in a few years, they will get scratched up, some will break. Basic chemistry. All they can do is doing some preventive PR to calm people down. This is what you are seeing now. They are all online now, and voilá, this is right under Product Care:
  • Avoid prolonged contact with any materials that may transfer their color pigments onto the patent leather (magazines, other leathers). The migration risk may particularly affect small leather goods.
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight as the color of your patent article may fade. Light colors are more sensitive to light and could slightly turn yellow.

I walked away from the Damier Ebene Alma bag with the guitar straps. I know people are selling the straps but for the money I'm paying for a luxury item I have to like the full atheistic of the item. Some bags do come with a second strap.

Also the denim stuff is really cute IRL. My new faves from the collection are the pleaty and the coussin. The pochette hill is a hot mess (unstructured, not cute, hard to unzip and zip, overall uncomfortable and not as roomy as it looks on the outside) and overpriced. The papillon is cute but it will always be sagging. The carry all was comfy. I didn’t get to see the OTG but I think that would be cute too. I still think they should have done a micro Alma and maybe even a NF bb.

I really liked the shape of the yellow vernis pochette in the last pic below. Wish it was crossbody but you could always swap the strap out for a longer one.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and pictures! I’m considering the Pochette Hills or the Lexington Pouch (the yellow vernis one you mention). But think I have to see them in real life to make a decision, I feel unsure about the materials.

So I did an interesting observation, my SA sent me the Denim and Vernis lookbook a month ago, with € prices. Today I checked the website and I noticed all prices are decreased compared to the lookbook! All bags are decreased €100-€150 and the denim Bumbag even €300!! Only the SLG kept the same price, I pre ordered the Key Pouch for €410 and it’s still at that price. Where the prices in the Lookbook a mistake? Or are the prices intentionally decreased? I also wonder at what € price people pre ordered the bags.

My GUESS from what I was told when the pictures first started floating around a price increase was supposed to happen before the launch dropped. And I said it somewhere in this thread that a lot of the denim pieces will be on display shelves because of these ridiculous high prices. Usually when there's a preview of a new launch this should indicate what presales should look like. For the denim collection so far I haven't seen neither sizes of the cosmetic pouch online. And I haven't seen any pictures of these items during the preview.

I really wanted to like the hills. Let us know what you think when you see it! Maybe there will be some fun unboxings here tomorrow that will offer some more perspective too.
