I asked a while back but do we know what colors we are getting for the Vernis rerelease? Is it just blue, yellow, and pink?

Also the hair clip is super cute! Anyone know if you can buy just the hair clip? Or does it only come with the bag?

I don’t think they are selling these particular hair clips separately, but I’ll ask my SA today for you and report back.

Re vernis, there is also a lilac, but I think it only comes in the nano Alma (left in pic below).

My thoughts exactly today when I saw an IRL pic like this one. I was already disappointed about the collection and these pictures are not helping. They look like those pics of confiscated counterfeit bags that cops publish after a bust.

This picture is a bit better but still unimpressed. Maybe they look better IRL?

The horizon is pretty but I could never do a denim horizon. The keepall is okay too but I don’t find the keepall easy or comfortable to travel with. It’s also very whatever.

If I was bored and just wanted something from the collection for the sake of “collecting” it, it would probably be the papillon or the pochette hill, but tbh I’d rather save my money. I could have been all over a nano Alma if they had made it.

I do really like the vernis Alma’s and Speedy’s though. I wonder if it’s too late to try to get one considering they started pre-orders weeks ago. 🤔 It’s hard to pick a color. The little Alma charm in pink vernis would be such a cute AirPod case.

Pictures of counterfeit bags. LOL :giggle:  now that you mentioned this it does looks like a counterfeit designer handbag bust.
I missed the original Marc Jacobs designer collection and LV has done follow up denim collections which I haven't liked. So I'm happy LV came back with a demin that I can say at least I picked up something new with a slight tweak that's a nostalgia from the past. Fashion styles recycles and it's great when there's a consumer that had the original and there's the consumer that purchases the newest version.
The vernis collection I remember when this came out in a dark maroon color. And here we go again with a design from the past but with a updated twist new styles and colors.

I love the new Vernis almas except why do they have to have the studs on the vachetta? I feel like it cheapens the look of the bag.

I don’t understand why Louis Vuitton is trying so hard to replicate the bags from the early 2000’s . I’m all for nostalgia and love a good reboot but with a modern twist.

Leave the vachetta studs behind, update the new denim line with new colors, or a metallic sheen or something to freshen it up.

If I wanted something that looks like it’s exactly from the early 2000’s then I’d buy something on the resale market for a 2000’s resale price.

I certainly don’t want a 2000s look bag for a 2024 price 🧐
This is so true. I don’t understand what LV tried to achieve here either. New colours would make it a nice fresh collection, white denim, black denim, metallic denim etc.

You should definitely try to get vernis piece you like them. They are not even lunch yet. There must be some pieces available to purchase.

I fear that this will remain an issue with patent leather for a long long time. So unless you plan to enjoy and resell quikcly, I recommend the darker colours. But if I think about it, almost all new colours are quite light pastels
The point is that a centuries ago the original patent leather was achieved by a linseed oil solution, but when plastics came to life, oils were replaced with plastic all across the board. Even in high-end goods. I don't know the complete reason, but most probably way easier and quicker to manufacture, also longer lasting, better quality. The only downside is discolouration. Old patent leathers were mostly black or brown. But on these new fancy colours, age does show. The coating is clear PVC. And clear PVC tends to get a yellow tint with age as the Sun's UV rays break down the polymer chains in the plastic.
Clear phone cases also use clean PVC, they practically have to. The last news a few years ago, when Apple introduced their own clear cases, they said that they engineered a polymer version that will be less prone to yellowing. Well, it didn't turn out to be effective, and also they probably meant that the case will survive a year. But a Speedy should be OK for more than a year.
UPDATE.
Foxy posted this update on the Vernis pieces. To me this screams that LV marketing is back on full speed. They started to spread this as precious insider info, word of mouth magic, and it will reach every potential Vernis buyer by February either on the socials or their SAs will whisper this into their ears.
But listen carefully. I bet you'll never find anything about this on the website, Vuitton will never officially state this in writing. They only released it as a rumour. And that is not legally binding. Which is exactly the point. 5 years from now nobody can go to court saying "but Foxy posted that this time it's gonna be different".
I am sure they did their best to try to make them as durable as possible, but at the end of the day it is still just clear PVC. It will turn yellow in a few years, they will get scratched up, some will break. Basic chemistry. All they can do is doing some preventive PR to calm people down. This is what you are seeing now. Think about it.

No colour transfer…. hard to believe. I’ll still keep mine away from pen, ink, receipts and any printing materials

Of course LV will instruct their Sa to give this insulting prepared speech to any customers that might have issues with light colored patent leather handbags. And to insult the customers more the issue is flipped back on the customer as normal wear and tear.

They have this information written in one of their latest Vernis Look Books, but I dont think it will be marketed on their website, just in case some complains later on

Hiii the clips are not available separately. But they do make similar clips from time to time. The pink Alma is very pretty. I kind of didn’t even notice the studs at first tbh and even then didn’t mind them. The zcp is probably my favorite with the little purple heart charm attached to it. I also loved the Alma charm in pink.

Also the denim stuff is really cute IRL. My new faves from the collection are the pleaty and the coussin. The pochette hill is a hot mess (unstructured, not cute, hard to unzip and zip, overall uncomfortable and not as roomy as it looks on the outside) and overpriced. The papillon is cute but it will always be sagging. The carry all was comfy. I didn’t get to see the OTG but I think that would be cute too. I still think they should have done a micro Alma and maybe even a NF bb.

I really liked the shape of the yellow vernis pochette in the last pic below. Wish it was crossbody but you could always swap the strap out for a longer one.

Absolutely looooooove the pink Vernis!

I had an OG denim pleaty back in the day so the denim is kinda meh to me, I wish they would have revamped it a little.

I don't know to what degree those Look Books are official public release documents or rather something that is for internal use but shared with VIP clients as a gesture. This is a very interesting case, but they surely must play it very safe.
Does it have any fine print? :)
