Video is the second post! This is bright natural daylight…and adding this here to show you indoor shade, aka. the most unglam look for monoglam. You really need to see it irl.

“Unglam” is exactly how I felt about this collection, when I saw it yesterday. I don’t really want a bag that looks like badly washed-out denim when I’m inside.

If the two weeks comes close, and I still haven’t gone, I’ll ask if it’s possible to ship it.

The speedy that was making the rounds on ig last week is actually mine lol I’ve seen it, and so has everyone else that follows this thread haha I like the material in photos/video, but in person, I was “meh.”

It feels like the plasticky and gummy bags I used to have when I was 6. I would have preferred an uncoated version. The coating really cheapens the overall look and feel, especially the silver version.

The gold monoglam is beautiful though. It looks like an actual luxury item. Unfortunately, there’s nothing in gold that I like/want.
The plasticky feeling is going to count me out I bet. Mine is here, in my office but I will unbox at home.

I was in store at the weekend and saw the gold Monoglam loop, the blue/silver neverfull and nano speedy. I did not like the plasticky feel/texture of the bag, to me it made it feel a little cheap. It made me think the bag had been laminated! I can see the appeal for others but for me I’m sitting this collection out.
I had to order it unfortunately because I couldn't see it in my store. So, I have a very strong feeling I will be saying the same.

It actually is laminated! :D someone posted a product info picture a while back where it was noted it’s indeed laminated jacquard.

The more I see them the more I understand why they went with the lamination. It literally is like the 1854 canvas, but the white iridescent "threads" are not real threads, they are painted onto the top edges of the dark blue threads. Much like the duo-tone lines on the Épi ridges. And since it is paint on cotton (and also metallic paints are notorious for being easy to brush off), I guess they went with the heavy PVC coating to avoid it rubbing off in a few weeks.

Yeah, I was a little confused when I was looking at the material. It really does look like white was just printed on blue threads. No actual lurex threads running through the weave/fabric. The material wasn’t as interesting and exciting as I thought it would be. I think the rainbow effect comes from the PVC coating.

I would still consider it a “collector’s” item, but not in the most refined sense.

There is an incredible amount of variability within the monoglam collection. I found all versions quite beautiful but gravitated toward the shimmer on a mid-tone. I was lucky to be able to choose from a variety of pieces. To me there is a plastic feel that I don’t find off putting at all. It feels durable and that reassures me that the rainbow/mermaid effect will be preserved.
