Responding to "fuada's post". Such mean-spirited tabloid words against an active duty member of the armed forces, an officer who is a decorated war hero and devoted assistant to the King, is the worst form of bullying because he is now a victim who is unable to respond. His position in the Army and within the Royal Household do not allow him to defend himself against such distasteful language any more than could the King and Queen speak out about things that have been said and written about them. If it were true, the King would not have honored him with the positions of Equerry and Groom of the Robes. Tabloid trolling at its worse.

There are comments on a UK tabloid that he swears as a trooper, drink excessively and bully women, someone commented that he knows him and has his telephone number, he prefers women 18-30 years old, blonde, not too tall and skinny
There are also people from his regiment who served with him who say he is kind, humble and a great leader but he needs to be careful about how pictures appear, especially if most people think he is married. He needs to think about the fact that magazines and newspapers want pictures of him and they can write whatever they want. Some publications may even invite him to functions just so they can get a picture and a story i.e in this case Tatler. Whether that story is true is a different matter. Publications can say anything.

Could someone familiar with the Ceremonial uniform please tell me why Johnny's kilt sometimes has the green bow ribbons on the side as seen in this photo below?

The double green ribbons are only worn by RRoS Officers and are a signal that the wearer is an Officer. A nice flourish rather than a traditional kilt pin. They are referred to as "kilt rosettes".

This is what I found:

'Kilt rosettes or even Celtic knots are generally worn by non-commissioned officers and commissioned officers. The pattern generally is different for either, officers being more decorative generally. Sometimes only one, sometimes two, depending upon the unit and whether an NCO or an officer pattern knot or rosette.

Another item worn on the kilt which is rarely seen nowadays...is the 'Kilt Panel". Google it on the internet !! An interesting item and heavily embroidered to a regimental design.

It was a badge of rank...as far as I understand private soldiers were never entitled to a rosette or Celtic knot on their kilt.

The grass green bows are still being worn by sergeants and officers of the new Royal Regiment of Scotland: This Regiment uses the Celtic Knot.

Thank you for the info, Ladies.
I love that military kilt wearing is so ornate yet the soldiers who wear them are so manly. It,s like, here are green celtic rosettes on my kilt.....Here's a dagger tucked in my sock to kill you with if needs be! Also I love that Johnny wears his full military regalia when accompanying the King on engagements, even to Morrison's supermarket! If anything, Johnny's tenure as Equerry has educated us about the RRoS, which can only be a very good thing.

I googled kilt panel, and here's a great way for us ladies to get in on the tartan action! Love this skirt!

BTW countdown to Monday when the King will be visiting the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Let's anticipate a sighting of Lt.Col.Thompson.

“BTW countdown to Monday when the King will be visiting the Royal Regiment of Scotland.”

Balaklava Company (5 Scots) provide the ceremonial guard when the monarch is in Scotland (a bit like the household Calvary at BP). Every year they provide a ceremonial welcome to the monarch to mark the start of their stay at Balmoral - they also provide extra “guard” duties to support the police (which I think is where the press get the “queens bodyguards” nonsense from).

This is what Charles is doing on Monday at the gates of the castle.

Here’s a video from back when Jonny was the officer commanding and in charge (29 Million views!! Which is mad for a video I’d consider to be a bit niche!)

Thank you for the marvelous video! Jonny has such a commanding presence in it. And, what a voice! The King sometimes brings only Jonny to events and they attend together, such as during Royal Week when Jonny and the King toured the Britannia, and during the Mountbatten Festival of Music earlier this year. Perhaps the King will bring Jonny to the ceremonial welcome! I wonder what Jonny must be thinking ... In 2018 and 2019 he was the OC of the RRoS ceremonial guard welcoming Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ... and now he is Equerry to the King. How far he has advanced in his career! Lieutenant Colonel's usually hold the rank for two years and then promote to full Colonel. Let's hope we see a second star pip on his shoulders next year!

Ah, thank you. I thought the King might be visiting the RRoS barracks now he has officially become their Commander-in-Chief.
I do giggle like a teenager when I hear Johnny shouting the command drills, as he's so softly spoken otherwise.
I felt sorry for the soldiers who had to clean their boots for the second time that day after quick marching through Cruachan IV's deposits.
Talking of Marching or Processing, the slow march Johnny did escorting Queen Camilla's car following the Late Majesty's coffin in Edinburgh was so balletic with pointed toes, it made me swoon at the delicacy. I saw a member of the public's video who was right beside Johnny as he passed. Also I saw Ollie Processing behind the Queen at the Coronation again recently and he also pointed his toes softly like a Ballet dancer. Yet they are dressed in these extraordinarily glamorous military ceremonial uniforms. Is is any wonder we ladies swoon?
I rewatched the classic 1995 BBC version of Pride and Prejudice at the weekend - still utterly brilliant after 30 years - and the Bennets talk about how thrilling it is to see soldiers 'in their Regimentals' in town. That was written over 200 years ago, and the ceremonial uniforms still look very similar with the gold ropes over the shoulder.

Edited to add: Go to 38.51 for a glimpse of Ollie Processing, I'll be shocked if that young man didn't have Ballet lessons when younger.

Thank you for the Coronation video! I did see a very short 2019 clip, only a quick few seconds, of Jonny calling a march while leading his men in "Fit for Role" training as they prepared for their Regimental duties in London. His practice was brilliant! I had a bit of a grin while watching his men peeking out from around one another, trying to see Jonny's footwork and attempting to copy him. Such manly men turning out such delicate and precise processing footwork is simply amazing to see. Especially while maintaining perfect posture, eyes straight ahead and carrying a ceremonial sword; all while he makes it appear as though he is gliding effortlessly across the ground! I cannot begin to imagine the amount of time Jonny has invested in ceremonial military marching practice to have fine tuned it to such a high degree of perfection!

Here's a really great edition of Country file from 2018 in Balmoral with spectacular views. Goodness, you can see why the Royal Family love it so much up there. There's also a glimpse of the Bothy Johnny shared dinner and Washing up with the late Queen.

I am unable to watch the video but what do you mean by that? Is the dinner/washing only mentioned or actually seen?

No, the inside of the Bothy is seen, and a man using it describes how 2 security officers came in to inspect the place, then the Duke of Edinburgh turned up with his barbecue and half an hour later the Queen arrived and he met her. It was a typical small Bothy, as seen across the Highlands. I was surprised, I was expecting something a bit more comfortable with soft furnishings if the Queen used it too!
