I’m surprised he’s allowed to show up unshaven. I assume he’s trying to grow a beard but it just looks sloppy at this point.
He’s not. The Instagram/TikTok account these are taken from is adding some weird filter to his face that’s making it look like he’s unshaven - it’s mainly because jonny is usually half blurry in the background and the filter is trying to make him look more HD. If you go back a page you’ll see the actual photos from today where he’s clean shaven.
Just a 3 min video so far of the King being greeted by the Balaclava Company, 5th Scots, RRoS at Balmoral today, accompanied by Jonny in his Regimental tweed suit. I presume this is because he doesn't want to tread on the current Commanding Officer's toes or steal his glory. Hopefully Braemar Media will provide a longer version soon.

Yes, I have noticed the filter, sometimes it does weird things like changes where his eye is.
We received our wish today!!! What a wonderful opportunity to see Jonny! Very nice comparison too; remembering when he was OC 5 SCOTS in 2018 and 2019 and seeing him today, at the same Balmoral gates, but now the King's Equerry. Wasn’t Jonny, as always, impeccably turned out today? Loved how he quietly shadowed the King during the King's inspection of the Royal Guard. Jonny seemed to be inspecting everything from the sidelines. Nice to watch. The Honour Guard must have been full of nerves knowing they were being inspected by the King and a RRoS Lieutenant Colonel as well!

Watching yesterday’s Royal Honour Guard welcoming the King to Balmoral could not help but bring back memories of the years when Jonny was the Major leading the 5 SCOTS Balmoral Royal welcomes. His command voice was simply attention-grabbing! Crystal clear pronunciation. Powerful, seemingly effortless, voice projection without the ear-shattering off-key screaming that others seem to do. He had superior voice intonation, smooth lilting deep melodic tones, with an almost operatic quality of voice command delivery. One would not be surprised if he is an excellent singer! Other OC’s could take a lesson in military marching voice commands by watching his 2018 and 2019 Royal Honour Guard presentations.
This man knows we are looking at him! He is looking directly into the camera now and the photographers appear to have caught on. Not complaining, not complaining at all! such a good pic!
Love that Cruachan’s tartan matches his handler’s.
Since he's the mascot of The Royal Regiment of Scotland Cruachan iv like all his predecesors wears the regiment's tartan as do the handlers.
