Me Too!A person on another site found the following:
Senior Equerry holds the position permanently. The Junior equerry holds their position for three years. Considering the time Lt Col Thompson has served between HRH Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles lll. I don't think he's leaving us any time soon.
I am searching for it now. If I find anything, I will post. Hope this is true.
He served as equerry to the Prince of Wales prior to Charles' ascension to the throne.
Dunno if it makes a difference, but just to clarify- the Lt.Col.never served the late Queen as an equerry.
Jonny is the junior eqeurry. Position was taken up in the spring of 2020 but his public duties around the role were delayed as a result of the UK being in the midst of a covid lockdown. The earliest public sighting of Jonny is June 2020 -
So really, his time should already be up. I’d say he hasn’t already changed over in the coming weeks, he may still be there until after September (KC3 and QC have an overseas tour coming up then).
Master of the household is currently held by Sir Tony Johnstone-Burt. That position is one that Tony will stay at…until he decides to retire. He has been there and held that position for a long time (wanna say since the late 90’s early 2000’s)
Tony is on the left in this photo.

Jonnys formal title is “equerry in waiting” which I think is confusing people - that is his job title. His replacement we believe holds the title “dismounted equerry in waiting” and that is James Boggis-Rolfe (on the left in this photo)

James has been doing more of the day to day engagements and events with the king over the last few months so it would make sense that those were “on the job” training days. As I said above, if jonny hasn’t gone already (I’d have kept him in role formally until at least Sept 8th to allow him one full year as equerry) then he will likely be out before the end of the year.
And I really really hate to be the party pooper here but for those that enjoy looking at Williams equerry, Rob Dixon…his term as equerry is also up at the end of the year.

Jonny’s wife (ex wife?) has made some changes at horses for health website, she doesn’t mention that she is married to army soldier, and she currently lives in Wiltshire, actually there is an army base, probably he is going back to army that’s why we haven’t seen him lately?
His last public appearance was July 19th - two weeks ago and Charles spent last week up on Scotland at Castle Mey so I doubt, given Charles has been out and about doing engagements that he’s left the role so suddenly - as I said before, if he does leave it will likely be sometime later this month when Charles and the rest of the family have their quiet, private time at balmoral (believe it’s the last two weeks of august)
Note: Charles should be out and about today (Saturday) at some local highlands games so there’s potential he may be spotted)
There was a comment on another social media site that made me laugh and is probably most applicable, it read that when it comes to Jonny appearances it’s either a tsunami or a drought!
Yes I noticed the changes to the website a few days ago actually but didn’t want to delve too deeply or speculate too much about her marriage as she is a private citizen (I did find it interesting, if that’s the right word, that she’s scrubbed the mention of even being married - she hadn’t mentioned him by name prior, just that she married a serving member of the armed forces) - and that’s all I will say on that!
