Thank you for finally clearing this up. I couldn't ever decide if it's a dark green or black.
That's not his summer jacket. This is still the ceremonial one. From my observation it's worn when KCIII has some sort of military engagement (like a visit to a regiment/church service for a military related thing or person). The summer version of this jacket is beige and the summer version of the dark green jacket is white. More details in the link here https://skotskehry.cz/dokumenty/The_Royal_Regiment_of_Scotland.pdf

I saw the picture too. I am wondering why he has his summer kilt on in Manchester. Would he not have his other Kilt jacket on?

It’s not a summer kilt, it’s the military uniform for visiting a military installation or military funerals (like Prince Philip’s memorial service). The summer-weight jacket is a lighter color (and obviously a lighter weight.) the first two photos are from when PC (at the time) visited a regiment that was being disbanded (the one with a sheep mascot) and the third one is from the Battle of Britain memorial (I think that was 2021?) The last one is the tropic weight jacket from Rwanda and you can see it’s much lighter. No worries for poor LtC Johnnie to get frostbite :)0C720FE1-4B55-47AF-BF99-5278EF3573DD.jpeg

I hope you are sighing over LtC Johnny’s military bearing and not over the that he WON’T get frostbitten.

(I do notice that I feel much colder wearing a dress/skirt in winter even with warm tights than I do wearing pants. Mad respect for the Scotsmen who wear kilts in all weathers. The wind is awfully cold blowing up one’s unprotected legs )
