It seemed like it was the other way around to me!
Right?! He's not even looking at her in that photo. The hand is out but the entire face and body is already onto someone else. Love it.

Me too, I feel very sorry for his family, it might be difficult for a woman to raise a child on her own with an absent husband most of the time. Have to deal with all the media intrusion in their personal life. I wish to them all the best.
I expect she can afford to get help with childcare. And I wouldn't feel sorry for a woman who gets to welcome home Jonny Thompson!

It is really all about someone to share the responsibility with at the end of the day. A glass of wine and a good "vent" makes everyone feel better. Except that service wives rarely moan - they know what they are letting themselves in for just as I did and the other wives are an immense support too. I thoroughly enjoyed our time with the RAF but one of the happiest days of my life was when my husband left the RAF, left the MQ behind, got in the car and drove away from RAF Brampton. We didn't say much for a couple of hours as we were both tired but when we got to the Wiltshire border and saw the sign "Welcome to Wiltshire" I howled my eyes out with sheer happiness.

Armed Forces wives do not have it easy but as a former single parent for the whole of my son's childhood, I suppose I do have a unsympathetic view of women who, at least, have a partner somewhere. But, of course, ideally we all need support.

I mean unexpected crap happens in everyone’s life - people get sick, get in accidents, lose their jobs and all the rest. But given that the Thompsons supposedly were married in 2010, when he was already in the army, I think probably the moves/not having your spouse around all the time was probably an “expected” unexpected thing. There are many civilian jobs that have similar uncertainties at the end of the day: marry a surgeon, an ER doctor, a nurse, or a police officer, EMT, fireman, etc. and deal with weird shift hours and high intensity high pressure jobs too.

Plus, the lovely Lt Colonel’s job comes with some fun side benefits (aside from the obvious ones) - it’s not many women in Britain who can say that they had an small dinner with the Queen in a bothy and then had their husband do the washing up alongside the Queen ;)

Hello,

i am very sorry to say this but I think Mister Thompson is not married anymore, he dont wear his wedding ring anymore (till now he always had it, you can see it in every photo, till December 2021).
If that is the case, I feel very sorry for him and his wife.
I wish them all the best and him a very good carier after the equerry time.

So many married men don't wear their wedding rings. My father included. So many reasons why that is.

Here, IMO, I think it's about privacy and protection. That's all I'll say about that.
