My husband lost his wedding ring in the first few years of our marriage. He took it off to wash his hands someplace and left it behind. We never replaced it. Our 40th anniversary is next month.
I agree, I don't think it's important that either husband or wife doesn't wear a wedding ring. My second husband has never worn it and we've been married 24 years.

Absolutely, same here except that it was me who almost lost it in a dressing room after I lost some weight due to illness. It just slipped off but I found it. I only wear it now during special occasions or Sunday service etc but not every day when working. There are lots of practical reasons. My best friend is a nurse and never wears to work either. Simple reasons like that.

My husband has never worn one. Wait he did for a few hours lol! Then he almost lost it on the airplane to our honeymoon destination. He left it in the lavatory and the flight attendant found it and somehow figured it out that it was his. He doesn't even like to wear a watch. He's not a jewelry person in general.

My father never wore one. His joke was that my mother was married to him so she had to wear a ring, but he wasn't married to her so he didn't have to.

There are plenty of horror stories about men losing the finger because the ring got caught on something. For some, all it takes is one horror story (my husband) but others require an “almost got my ring finger stuck” moment.

A ring avulsion is an injury to one of your fingers that happens when a ring you’re wearing is suddenly pulled with a strong force. They are serious injuries that frequently lead to amputation.

Who gets ring avulsions?

Anyone wearing a ring can experience a ring avulsion. If you wear a ring and work with your hands around machinery or other equipment you have a higher risk of experiencing a ring avulsion.

Athletes who wear rings while playing sports — especially contact sports like football — have a higher risk too.

How common is this condition?

Ring avulsions are rare. They’re only around 5% of emergency room visits for arm and hand injuries each year.

Hello,

i am very sorry to say this but I think Mister Thompson is not married anymore, he does not wear his wedding ring anymore (till now he always had it, you can see it in every photo, till December 2021).
If that is the case, I feel very sorry for him and his wife.
I wish them all the best and him a very good career after the equerry time.

I’ve been married for 23 years and while I mostly wear my wedding rings there are some days when I don’t because of random reasons including but not limited to my forgetting, doing the washing up and leaving it by the sink, having it in my pockets because of doing the washing up and so on. I’m so glad thousands of people are not analyzing my fingers every day to see whether I’m still married or not.

In the video in which he talked about the late Queen’s having dinner with him and his wife in a bothy at Balmoral and doing the washing up, he certainly didn’t say my “ex” wife and I hardly think the poor man would have had time to be divorced or separated in the, what, six weeks since the Queen passed away?
