One look at those horribly swollen fingers and I think rheumatoid arthritis. That causes other symptoms though, which I don’t know whether he has.
Yes, and also we've all seen older people with swollen ankles and hands, this could be fluid retention, which seems chronic in older folks. Not that I think KC is so old because I think we are very close that way. lol

Yeah, it could certainly be edema. He’s been that way for a long time apparently. Maybe he eats a lot of salty food. If it was fluid retention his physician would have prescribed Lasix or another diuretic so maybe it’s something else.

His fingers have been noticed and become a source of humor.

At todays procession, flanking the coffin inside the guardsmen were a number of service personnel in different uniforms. If you look back at any image of the gun carriage you should be able to see them. I quickly counted about 6 or 7 on each side but that's not an accurate count. Those were The Queen's previous equerrys. I think they serve about 3 or4 years in the role and it rotates between the services. I def spotted the chap highlighted above. It stands to reason that they all develop a close relationship with their principal.
I am not sure if William has an equerry but both the Queen and Charles as POW had one.
There was one of the Queen's former equerrys missing from the side of the gun carriage - Sir Tim Laurence served and that is how Princess Anne met him when her first marriage had just failed.

(And Cpt Peter Townsend was one of The Queen's earliest equerrys. The man Princess Margaret wanted to marry.)

And Viscount Spencer, Diana's father.
Williams equerry is a Navy man, Lt Commander Rob Dixon. MJT was equerry to Prince Charles and then moved up when Prince Charles became King (the Queen’s former equerry - after Lt Col Twumasi-Ankrah - was a Major in the Royal Marines (people think she chose him especially to make up for Harry sort of abandoning the position of Captain-General) named Major Tom White. In the photos from the Reddendo, he’s standing next to Major Johnny.

I have some downtime between projects so I’ve been doing some research on the burning question of whether Major Johnny is married. Thanks to Getty Images and YouTube screen grabs I have resolved that … the situation is unclear.
Westminster Abbey, November 2021. That looks like a wedding ring.View attachment 5443620
But it’s gone in Rwanda, in June 2022

This one is just cause I could and that is a lovely smile and does he have a dimple?

In conclusion, either Major Johnny was married in November and isn’t now; or that was not a wedding ring; or he doesn’t always wear his wedding ring. So I am unable to draw any conclusions about his marital status. What I can conclude is that he has shapely, large hands, and we know what they say about THAT.

Thank you for reading my treatise!
Here is a more recent photo of the Major (from King Charles’ meeting with the Prime Minister) showing his left hand … doesn’t look like he is wearing a wedding ring anymore

When I first noticed this thread I could not figure out what it even meant! But I noticed that it kept jumping up the list, so lots of people were posting, so I decided to check it out for myself. And I am glad that I did!!

I do find it hysterical that there are now newspaper articles and SM posts about him all over! Wonder if he has a clue!

Must say, the post (and pix) of him in a suit aren’t bad, either! :coolio: :coolio:

Sir Tim was walking with the family.

I wonder how much longer Major Johnny has left in his rotation as King Charles’ Equerry. Their rotations last 3-4 years on average but I assume you have to add in the time he‘s already spent as Equerry to Prince Charles.
NOOOOO. The clock must be rest - he needs to go back to the start. We need another full term of Major Jonny.:girlsigh:

As yes, my point that Sir Tim was missing was in reference to his absence with the former Equerries surrounding the gun carriage, as he also was a former equerry, not that he was not there at all or not included in the Royal party.

I think he is an outstanding Royal spouse. Do you recall it was only a couple of months ago that he stood in at an engagement for Princess Ann as she was triple booked that day, and he started his talk by some reference to being the reserve or substitute?

I wonder if he’ll stay till the coronation, whenever that is. I mean he seems very close to the new King, and it’s probably great having such a known (and lovely) quantity in this time of grief and stress for the family. I’m sure his own wishes would be considered too, perhaps he wants to get back to his military job. He should definitely be considered in the New Year’s honors: Sir Johnny Thompson of Hotlandia :)
