Hello wonderful ladies and gentlemen of the PF world. Would anyone be able to ID this gator CDC (above) ... it's waiting to be picked up for Mrs. PP tomorrow, at our local cleaners (this is what I call our H boutique as i feel like I am taken to the cleaners every time I walk out of that place! LOL!) It's my birthday gift for her.... albeit, 2 weeks behind. Another one to add to her carefully curated collection of exotic CDCs. Thanks in advance...we don't think it's Ficelle as that color is already in her modest collection (below: far right). Thanks again!!

Hey again!
So I was going to keep the bracelet with the mark since it's on the inside, but then I noticed a chip in the hardware and took it back to exchange. Well my exchanged-for bracelet arrived in the mail, and the edges near the glazing of the leather seem to have the black color rubbed off, kind of all around the bracelet here and there. Am I cursed, or is this normal for black CDC bracelets, to see light wear on the edges? ;_; This one also has a bunch of marks inside, it was clearly tried on at the store. I feel like I don't know where to set my expectations for this piece, since it's Hermes and their leather is supposed to be the best. I can post a pic if desired.

Here are the photos up close of the area I mean on the edges of the CDC bracelet. It's brand-new from the store so I wanted to check if this kind of wearing of the black on this type of leather is normal/usual or if I should be worried about it.

So glad to see the CDC still favored by a lot of us. I remember when I first went down the slippery slope that this bracelet is the hottest in town. SA can only take turns to get their allocation when one came in and I waited for two years before getting one. It is still chic and forever a classic.

Hi Everyone!

I think it's finally time! I am taking the plunge to step into the world of Hermes. I decided that my first purchase will be a bracelet. I have not seen anything yet in real life before. Tomorrow or Saturday I hear if I will get a Monday appointment so fingers crossed.

I do need your advice/opinion. What do you think about the Collier de Chien bracelet? I really like the look, it's edgy and cool. But it is very expensive, Is it worth the money? I mean it's almost a 1000 euro's. And it's not even real gold or silver. Maybe a silly question but how do you justify or not feel guilty with spending so much money? I am not wealthy that I can just spend like crazy but I just gotten into some extra money and now I can finally treat myself. I have been going back and forth to the website. Something is pulling me to it, It's magical!

The CDC was the 1st H item I brought back in around 1991-it was £370 then from the Hermes boutique (which was still a lot of money 30years ago!) I justified it by saying it wouldn't date and Id wear it forever.
I DO still wear it and it went to spa last summer and came back like new.
My 1st was black and silver and I later brought a tan and gold one.

Hi! funny, I thought CDC was going to be my first purchase about 12 years ago too. They were never in stock, so I ended up with a constance belt. I've worn it daily..with a few strap changes for just as many years. Now I can justify anything H, as it's the ultimate "treat"

It's definitely worth going to the store to try it. I was also drawn to the CdC when I saw it on pictures. But when I tried it in the store, I didn't like it on me at all. It made me look like.... I dunno, a tough biker wannabe or something. It was just too much. Not that i think everyone who wears it looks like that, it looks super chic on most people. But I'm always surprised by how many H things that look great on the website look terrible on me (and also, conversely, how many things I wouldn't look at twice on the website look incredible once i try them at the store!) So my advice would be to go and try it. Maybe you'll find that it's not for you anyway.

And if you do end up loving it, then buy it not from the store but from the website. Then you have the option to return it. Wear it a few times around your house and see if you still love it a few days later. If you do, you might find that you don't care about the cost, now that the money is gone. And if you don't you can return it.

Another thing: You can find tons of CdCs on resale sites, many in excellent condition and often priced lower than retail. If cost is a concern, you could buy a marked down one on resale first to see if you like it or not?
