That's a matter of opinion.

I know it is. To be honest, ever since I lost my Birkins, I haven't been wanting one. They're too heavy, too expensive, and I honestly don't know why I ever paid that much for a bag. Sure it was incredibly well made but it wasn't worth $10,000+. In fact, I'd take an LV over Hermes any other day, but I'm just saying I think the majority of the world (and celebs like the Kartrashians 🙄) create the image or idea that Hermes is "more classy" (even though some of the people who buy them are classless, and yes, Kardashians, I'm looking at you).

That's a matter of opinion.

Additionally, it's not my personal opinion. I was just stating what the majority of people seem to think (including, and mostly, those outside of the LV forum).

My personal view on the subject doesn't exist. If I like a bag, I'll carry it, whether it's from Walmart, Louis Vuitton, Guess, Hermes, Saint Laurent, Michael Kors, whatever. I buy a bag because I like it and my opinion is the only one that matters when I'm deciding what bag to buy, so what I'm trying to say is to everyone out there: you shouldn't buy a bag because it's a status symbol or will make people think of you a certain way. You should buy a bag because you like it.

Oh ok. You just kind of sounded like you were stating a fact so that's why I responded with what I did. This is actually what I don't like about luxury anything is that some use it to one up someone else in order to feel better and more important about themselves and I'm not just talking about purses. I am really into cars and people can be the same way but not everyone though there are so many cool car people just like the many cool purse people on TPF, just enjoying what they love and appreciating one another.

I agree with your purse buying philosophy that you just need to buy what you like.

After I read my post, I realize how misleading it could have sounded. I'm sorry! And I'm glad you understood my last post; I kind of lost my train of thought while typing. Everyone on the Purse Forum should stop arguing over which brand is classier and just rejoice in our common passion for purses!

You could ask me, because they weren't his. But I guess you're interested in ganging up on me with him. But I'll tell you even though quite frankly it's none of your business. I lost them to a fire in my home that started in the closet. Thank god no one was hurt.
Yikes, sorry to hear that!

I actually was not offended by OP. I interpreted it as she is conflicted because LV is higher quality but not as prestigious as Hermes and Chanel. Since I don't care whether or not someone thinks LV is prestigious, I took it as a compliment to LV that their quality surpasses that of more expensive brands. For me, it's a combination of design + quality which for the most part LV excels at both. Hermes designs don't excite me and Chanel quality is not always great considering the price point. If we're talking about best value (which seems like a non sequitur in the designer handbag world), I would go with Tom Ford whose handbags are excellent quality at a relatively reasonable price point.
