interesting outlook... I am going to ignore the article's offensive "secretary" comment, but hasn't it occured to them that THIS HAS ALREADY HAPPENED!! look around - pretty much everyone has a neverfull or a speedy. consignment stores online are overflowing with pre-loved items.. so increase or no increase, the world already owns Louis Vuitton

Bingo.

they sound like our government workers - you call them for info, and you never get what you want as different people give you a different answer............sigh..........I love my job I love my job I love my job ...........

That's kinda rude to government workers!
Way to make a sweeping generalization!

Am I the only one who believes this price increase freak out is totally overblown? I mean what difference does it make if a bag goes from $1000 to $1100? It's already WAY overpriced to start with! It's not like the price was somehow "fair" before the increase and now it's suddenly "too much."

The Canadian dollar is very low right now. That hundred dollars does honestly make a big difference especially with a dwindling economy and empty pockets. As somebody else brought up, there's been an 18 percent increase in the last year. That's insanity. I'm sticking to the consignment route.

I hate reading that stuff. I was really interested in the counterfeiting going on. It seems like Asia has cornered the market in "knock-off's". I'm disgusted with all replica videos showing up on YouTube and they need to go. I'm recovering from surgery and chasing them around for fun.

To see some of these Youtubers parade their knock offs around is insulting.

No one is forced to buy! If someone thinks it's unreasonable, they can move on to other brands.
Honestly, there are items at Louis Vuitton I can't afford... it doesn't impact my life at the end of the day. I am not interested in the price an item was yesterday or will be tomorrow. I am interested in the price this item is the day I am ready to buy. Why give myself so much anxiety?

Just because we aren't being forced to purchase anything doesn't mean we do not have the right to notice these steep price increases. It's unfortunate these constant price increases do turn me off purchasing at the boutique.

I am pretty certain that the price increases are a well thought-out strategy by LVMH's business team, with the purpose of consolidating sales growth. In fact, we can easily assume that this strategy is working perfectly well since it has been in place for many, many years. The money they lose from clients who walk away from purchasing new at the boutique must be lower than the money they make from clients spending more and new clients. It's simple maths.

PS: yes the increases are steep in North America.
