So how will they identify of possible faulty batches? I highly doubt they will or have stopped putting the date codes on the SLGs and instead it will be hidden so in the event that a faulty item is returned it can still be traced back to where and when it was made.

The date codes are used by LV for this purpose so removing it entirely defeats the purpose, that's the only reason it exsist so I do think it will be hidden.

I heard it from minks4all on youtube. She said she have spoken to 3 different customer service that confirmed it.

I dont see there's gonna be a big deal if there's gonna be date code or no. It certainly will not deter me or make me wanna leave the brand for this reason. If there's gonna be a defective batch (which normally happen with new products), we can always bring it back to store.

Ok I finally watched Minks4all's video. 😃
(She wore me out... Take a breath gurl!)

If indeed this is the case, it will make zero difference to me. I buy new at the store and I rarely resell older items. The date codes were intended for internal use only. If you are a Louis Vuitton customer, buy at the store, have receipts... why would anyone care?

They are notoriously wrong. They told someone that LV did not make the new speedies with zippered pockets even after someone bought one from the store. I can't begin list all the misinformation they give out. I'll believe it if I see it.

Maybe for resell? Not planning on selling my pieces but will it be the same value without the date code even with a receipt?

+1

To me date codes are only fun if you want to know when it was made. Otherwise, they don't matter much.

I want to sell my Totally PM but after searching and searching (and searching some more) and I can't find any sign of a date code.

I bought it in 2010 from Neiman Marcus and I used it daily for 5 years. It's definitely well used so I'm not looking to make big bucks on it but I would still like to sell it. Will this be impossible without the date code?

Thanks!

Hello new to site... I have recently purchased a Louis Vuitton ellipse bowling ball bag. I have been doing a lot of research online and I'm still a little confused as to if I have an authentic bag or not. can someone please help me? I cannot figure out how to post pictures with this message. several sites I have read said something about the stitching having 5 stitches mine has seven. also I cannot find a date code anywhere on this bag. so really not sure if I got ripped off or actually paid for what I got help.

Datecode on an Ellipse is under the tab. Lift up the loose part beneath the pocket (where the metal loop is) and the datecode is on the reverse.
