Louis Vuitton Mexico

Hi!
I only checked a couple of bags/wallets that my friends and I are interested in. I think the price (before tax refund) lies between EU site and US site.
For example:
1. Twist XS wallet is $710 on US site (before tax), is 480 euro (545$) on France site, and is 13300 mex peso (655$ before tax refund). It would be 8.9% cheaper for tourists after tax refund.
2. POCHETTE METIS in reversed monogram is 1880$, 1430 euro (1625$), and 39500 mex peso ($1947). This one is not cheaper without tax refund, but is often sold out in US and EU.
3. Bond Street BB, sold out on US site, is 1870$, and 36500 mex peso (1800$).

My point is, if you happen to be in Cancun or Mexico City for vacation, it is not a bad idea to check LV and Chanel. They have pieces that are often sold out in the US, and the prices are often cheaper.
HTH.

Ah, thank you so much for the detailed reply! Do you know if you get full 8.9% refund or there are fees that cuts into refund like in Europe? I read old reviews of the tax refund and people often complained about getting it looooong time after or not at all. What's your experience like? Also wondering if you know if Mexico City has special hot stamps like they do for New York? Thanks so much!

Hello there! They have a special stamp in Cancun. (Yes, I asked the same question. :P) But I don't think that's very pretty.... ha

Regarding the tax refund, it will be refunded to your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and Amex) within 3 or 4 months, I think. And when I checked with them, they say 8.9%, no other fees. (maybe because you actually pay ~ 15% in total?) I haven't done it because, unfortunately, I entered as resident. (I know, stupid!) But I have emailed them and they responded within 2 days. So I guess as long as the paperwork is complete, you should get your money back.

I was in Cancun this summer. I bought a few SLG's and travel books. The travel books were about $30 compared to $56 in the US. The black leather bracelet (I can't remember the name) was about $240 and it's a little over $300 in the US. I bought a reverse monogram card holder for about $175 and a monogram eclipse pocket organizer for about $250 I think. I am not sure if their prices are better or if the peso is doing so poorly agains the dollar. I ended up getting about $70 back in taxes.

Cool idea for a thread! And good news that the online store is now open in Mexico. My partner is originally from Mexico, but we live in the UK so don’t get to visit too often. Maybe some day in the future we’ll relocate there, so it’ll be nice to know I can still get an LV fix. :giggle:

I visited the Cancun store in 2019 while I was in Mexico. We were staying in Riviera Maya and then Merida, but I made sure we made a quick trip to Cancun specifically so I could check out the LV. :graucho:

They didn’t have anything I wanted in stock, unfortunately, but I did come away with this beautiful souvenir book. It has some really lovely illustrations. I also got one of my luggage tags stamped with the Cancun hot stamp.

I’m loving the Cancun stamp! There aren’t any physical stores up north where I live; I have to cross the border to the USA for that. But since it’s closed, the online store is my only hope right now.

TP26 finally here! I’ll admit I was having cold feet after buying it but now I can’t stop staring at it and touching it! I didn’t think I would love it this much. Also, the quality is great; do not fear Made in Spain pieces.C712FB0B-2F0A-4B2F-9965-4265DA210A8D.jpeg26332D36-CE9D-4926-A18F-44D0EADC09C1.jpeg8234834B-FD45-4F95-98CC-501D657F4FE6.jpeg

The Pochette Accessoires was added to the Mexico website for around 11 minutes and taken off again. While it lasted, it said "only available by telephone and in-store". Stay tuned.AAE3091F-8478-4E59-9182-55A09B0047D7.JPG
