Prices are higher & a word of warning do not use your credit card you will be slaughtered with the exchange rate! It happened me, DS was there on holidays & got me a few items that i couldn't get here. They worked out massively more expensive with the price & credit card conversion rates!

CapitalOne is one credit card i like taking with me when i travel abroad! The Exchange rates are rather honest, and you're not charged any fees, no foreign transaction fees or currency conversion fees. You should look into one BagAngel ;)

this is the second time I read this about Capital One today. I am going to Paris/London later this year & plan to sign up for one before my trip!

Hello,

I'm just curious how much a Speedy 40 would be in Cancun Mexico. Would it be the same as the American stores? Or since the American dollar is stronger wouldn't it be cheaper?

Please give me some insight!

i purchased @ the luxury avenue LV last year during my honeymoon. the SAs were very nice & the prices were in pesos. sadly i cant recall if after the monetary conversion if the prices were less than US or not. you will save on taxes since its duty free. however, if your credit card charges a foreign transaction fee (normally 1 - 3%) purchasing in Mexico will cost you...

one thing that surprised me was that they had a lot of hard to find items. i bought the WC speedy 30 & they had many RP pieces which were sold out of many boutiques at they time. hope this helps. enjoy your trip :)

Prices here on luxury goods are about 20% higher than in the States it doesnt matter whether you pay in pesos or dollars, the price is still higher.

They add 15% IVA to everything in Mexico. I lived in DF as a Diplomat. I would get the 15% back so it was cheaper there for me. Also, if the exchange rate is a plus for you and bad for them, they will raise the prices on their purses! Honest to god! I went to the LV store in Polanco when the exchange rate was really good and the SA told me they were raising the prices due to the rate.

Hi yall...I live in Mexico, a small border town and the closest LV stores are in San Antonio TX only 2 hours away...we frequently go to Monterrey and, yes the prices in LV Mexico are higher than US, last year I was about to buy the Speedy 30 it was $10 000 Mexican Pesos, back than over $100 dlls more, it is true. So I always buy my bags in USA, or my last vacation was to Italy and it was cheaper than USA. And also true about CapitolOne they do have a good service, we used it in our last trip.
Have fun in Cancun!

This is an old thread but I have the same question and it didn't make sense to start a new one.

I noticed there is no version of the LV site for Mexico. I wanted to look up the prices and see if they happen to be cheaper. However I'm guessing they'll be about the same?

Prices in each country are based on the exchange rate between the country's currency and the price (in Euros) in France. So it's about the same price, but the difference is the taxes in each country which will change the price.
