That sounds fishy on LV's part.

I had another call with LV a couple of hours ago and they said, they provided the photos after 13 days from the claim date. UPS said they did request pick up the damaged box within the first 7 days. LV representative said it's usually 14 days but just because the investigation takes more than 14 days, and they just don't close the claim. I am not sure if UPS has a chance to check the photo. Regardless, they still should have the damaged box for the claim, and should be able to provide whatever UPS asks for determine who takes the responsibility for the lost goods. I don't have a direct communication channel with UPS. I only can pester LV and they really don't give me clear statement. Like why UPS claims was denied, where the damaged box is now, and when UPS asked to pick up, if LV will claim sincerely on behalf of me because I used prepaid label (thus I don't have any direct contact point for this matter with UPS) and so on.
Above all else, what drives me the most crazy is, they said very clearly that they will not ever, release the fund for me unless they have the bag in their hand. It wasn't me who lost the bag and yet I am the one who needs to communicate with them to see if they keep updating the information each other to make this actually work for everyone. I am planning to call LV every single day until this second UPS claim is over.

Absolutely. I was also told Chanel will not refund the money. Interestingly, the box was delivered to the dock on Black Friday and the SA didn't contact me until the following Monday. I keep asking, to no avail, what happened between FRIDAY AND MONDAY??? I don't know about you, but I can't get any answers. And unfortunately, that box went thru many, many hands and UPS locations before getting delivered.

Yes, it got lost when I return the bag. I used the prepaid label that came with the bag. The instruction is pack the bag in securely, attach the new label on top of the original label and drop off at UPS. The problem is the weight when I checked the drop off receipt later, and it was 1 lb.
I filed the formal complaint through state general attorney to be able to access the video footage at the drop off station to confirm, and for the purpose of preparing my case, in case I have to go to actual court. Also, I don't have any means to access the photos of the box that I shipped that LV provided to the card company.

I think 1lb is the standard weight listed on prepaid labels. I just checked the box I received from Fashionphile the other day and the weight was 1lb. That box had a large Prada bag and Cartier jewelry with all the heavy boxes. There is NO WAY that box weighed 1lb. I'd still be selling on Ebay if I could ship all that at 1lb rate
Here is the link to a FP thread commenting on sweetheart shipping "deals" with UPS and the ramifications for customers should anything go wrong.
I bet your inbound label was listed as 1lb as well, meaning that technically there isn't a discrepancy with the inbound vs outbound box.
I learned long time ago to be leery of prepaid labels, especially with USPS. Those packages sit until there are enough of them for a third party to pick them up and forward them at which point the tracking provided no longer works. UPS is better, but if you purchase the label directly UPS has to answer to YOU not the vendor.

In my situation, I purchased the label and the insurance directly at the UPS store. Fingers crossed.

I am losing this battle. LV told me that UPS denied the claim because there is no sign of the bag in the box. My credit card company provided the photos that LV provided them for the dispute case. The box is severely damaged and the bag is not there. Both parties are putting the blame on me and I have no power whatsoever here.
I really think we should gather the people who have gone through the same experience and raise the awareness so that we don't have to be the victims of missing product. All I did was I returned the bag as they instructed and I am the one who lose the money and the bag.
I am not really using the social media, but I had put some comments on LV's FB, Instagram, and Twitter. I don't know if they ever flinch at all but if someone who has more influence would make some change for it. Please, help me. I didn't steal the bag. I put the bag in the return box and shipped it.

I'm sorry that you are not faring better.
After years of posting on the eBay forum here I have to say that I am not surprised by much any more.
The sad fact is that you can post and sticky warnings everywhere but 99.9% only show up after something has gone wrong.
The policies and procedures are deliberately stacked against the consumer. They are often hidden and confusing. Most of us learn (the hard way) as we go. Years of eBay buying and selling taught me a lot. But I was still at the mercies of third parties. I once shipped a LV insured and requested additional signature required. It was at closing and I didn't check the receipt until I got home when I noticed that the clerk had left off the SC I needed. I was frantic all night and was back at the PO to recall the package the next day. The same clerk was there and got belligerent with me. It took me an hour to explain to the post master that eBay and PayPal require ONLINE VIEWABLE proof of signature. They couldn't get it through their heads as the insurance came with signature. The problem was that signature is only viewable in house and if there was a problem I would lose. Thankfully there wasn't a problem but still!
IDK if the LV website spells out in detail what their shipping policies and procedures are. Ditto for the use of a prepaid return label. Are you told anywhere what rights you forfeit by using one? The thread I linked to above references the deal between the shipping company and the merchant that leaves the customer completely out of the loop.
I'm sure their legal teams have made sure their clients are covered.
It totally sucks that you are being put through this.

I am so sorry. I understand how you feel when you know you did exactly what you were supposed to do and everyone assumes you are lying. That is a lot of money to be out with no product. Stay persistent. Don't give up.

Interesting update today. Still haven't heard back from UPS. UPS Store is useless. SA at Chanel hasn't answered any texts and out of the blue she texted me tonight and said they issued a refund. I asked if they heard back from UPS, and said I haven't heard back from anyone and I've been sick about it. No response.... just a copy of the refund receipt. Similar to you, I filed a claim with UPS, contacted the 800 number, wrote to Consumer Protection, disputed the charge with the credit card and posted a negative review. I will remove the review once I know everything is done and we truly have our money back. I'm so interested as to what happened, so I am completely out of the loop, even though I was the shipper! Again, don't give up if you're in the right and did what you were supposed to do. Don't let the package pirates win!
