Did anyone come across this piece by chance? I seriously do not recall seeing it anywhere but came across it on social media and I lowkey really like it
It's really REALLY nice in person. Feels really plush (it's llama and wool) and nice and the details were excellent. It's kind of a "furry" jacket also, but feels more like... pony hair type of smooth and not full on furry (not sure how to describe it!). Saw it at the Casa. In my size. Butttttt it's also like 6.3k SGD........

WHEWwww pricey. I was trying to look for it online but couldn’t find it for the life of me— it seems like such a cool piece to be able to see in person

I was away from home the last few days, back and comparing the leather quality of this flamenco with my other (from the Howl’s collection) it actually feels a bit cheaper and less substantial, and I’ve spotted a smudge of glazing on the leather.

I’m going to consider if I want to keep it, even though I love the colour and pandas.
Weird - so I wanted to buy the panda flamenco and completely forgot I bought the HMC calcifer flamenco (black one).

I remember taking a look at the panda one on Saturday and was indecisive about it.

Found the calcifer one yesterday (thanks to a friend's reminder - I think the HMC drop and my purchasing experience in Taiwan has definitely made me forgot what I bought because at the time I was too annoyed to unbox purchases) and the calcifer one is 100% thicker.

Immediately discouraged me from buying the panda flamenco.

Side note: It also didn't help that the SA at Kaohsiung said that the pandas towards the top of the flamenco were printed on and not marquetry. I was at Taipei on Saturday and the SA in Taipei said that the pandas are definitely marquetry and not printed on top. Seems like there's a lack of professionalism in SAs here, unfortunately. The SA that I was familiar with ended up quitting a few months ago and told me it's because no one goes to Loewe in Kaohsiung so there's a lack of commission...

I too had a similar experience when I asked my SA about whether a piece was made with marquetry or not, and the answers are always different between SAs. Sometimes I even feel I'm more knowledgeable about the product than them... but I feel it really wasn't their fault when the descriptions on the website are extremely vague as well.

Wow! If you don’t mind me asking, where are you located at?

I’m not very surprised about Kaohsiung because my SA I’ve worked with is now at RV, and I bought a few pairs of shoes from her already. She told me some of her colleagues went to McQueen and other designer brands, so they’re not really able to keep sales because of the lack of sales (partially due to department store location - it’s not far from one of the main department stores but kind of inconvenient to get to).

The new SA I met in Taipei was so shocked and shook her head in disbelief that the SA in Kaohsiung would get it wrong.

On the other hand, I was kind of lurking around this post just to see what other areas are doing for this drop, as I can see there are events hosted in Singapore and Hong Kong.

I asked the SAs in both cities and they said there were no events, no magazines, no cookies…I understand that these are add-ons, but I honestly asked one of the Kaohsiung SAs (there were 2 that were texting me) that was inviting me back to the store why I should be going back instead of just buying online, which was what I did, unfortunately in a way.

Edit: I told her the best way to show my dissatisfaction towards the branch (and nothing personal at all) was to just not buy from them. I purchased items from the Ghibli drops because I genuinely loved them, but I could get this collection a lot easier from other platforms.

It's sad to know that there aren't cookies or even magazines in Taiwan yet. It isn't hard to send them just over, is it? 😣

FYI, that magazine "issue" isn't specific to this collection only. It talks about some other things related to Loewe as well, so it's just like the other magazines they published before. But this time it looks more like a book than a magazine.

What’s strange is the “Asia-exclusive” pop up book— I’m curious as to what countries it’s restricted to now. China seems to be getting them too. Idk I feel like there was a lot of discontent over the HMC in some of the Asian hubs, and at the start part of my assumed that Loewe was stepping up in this areas to compensate for that, but apparently not— and Loewe has been expanding quite aggressively in Taiwan just to not hold a single event (apparently not even in Taipei)

The funny thing is I shop at the Taipei store😂

I got kinda fed-up with the exclusivity happening here, if you want anything from the collection, you need an SA who checks the inventory periodically, and you have to pay a full non-refundable deposit to reserve the piece... unless ur a VIC of course. So for this collab, I walked into the store on launch day, and I think I saw only one penguin mini puzzle bag on display...

So yeah, I also pretty much gave up shopping in stores and flew to Tokyo for a much better shopping experience where I could actually look at all the pieces and make my purchases with full confidence, and saving around 15% cause of the exchange rate. And of course... receiving the new issue magazine plus some cookies for free.

Honestly don't think it's the store's fault, I just accept that Taiwan is a small market and we're ranked low on priority.

Yeah-- I switched to online orders only and having any outliers sourced abroad. I am pretty done with Loewe Taiwan as well unfortunately. I think its bonkers how there are like 7 or so boutiques (not including the Gloria one) here within such a dense area and yet still have such abysmal regional treatment from HQ. You'd think they'd focus on quality versus such aggressive expansion. I truly empathize with the SAs who work there.

From what I know, there isn't much of any real perks to being VIC here anyway regardless since the stock is historically limited anyway.

Hahahaha no way! I thought the Taipei stores get the most things and happened to be at Taipei on Saturday and wanted to check things out.

I had a bad experience with Breeze Taipei (went in and got completely ignored because the SAs thought I couldn’t afford anything, so I left) so this time I went to A4 Loewe. SAs in Taiwan are probably all the same based on what you said as well. I got the panda flamenco reserved for me for free at Kaohsiung, but I only told the SA that I can “take a look at it” so I wasn’t really committed to it. Ended up seeing it in person at Taipei. 😂

I had to pay in full to reserve pieces, which I didn’t feel comfortable doing in this collection but was sure for Ghibli drops.

Good for you for flying to Japan! I know that the conversion rates make it worth it, and they probably have more stock. Probably also less stressful to buy from them, too. 😭

For now I’ve only placed an order online - I didn’t want to waste the A4 SA’s time, so I asked her about this men’s t shirt and I wanted it in XXS size (available online) - she said there’s none, only XS and I have to pay upfront. Now I’m thinking maybe I should give up all the Loewe stores in Taiwan. 😂

There are not going to be cookies at all, unfortunately. I’m not sure about magazines, but I don’t even think we got the magazine issue for HMC, which was what bothered me…

The Kaohsiung store I shopped at had a $100k TWD (around $3.3k USD) for a HMC notebook spend, which made no sense since I think people were getting notebooks for way less in other countries. Again, these little gifts are supposed to elevate the experience, but I suppose knowing how other clients in different countries are being treated vs how Taiwanese clients are being treated really soured my experience.

I know it’s not the SAs’ fault, and they said they’d try, but I don’t see much difference in this collection and it really discourages me from wanting to buy in store moving forward. 😬

Right. It does seem you may get more buying online. Sigh.
