Lets talk Lanvin

I have owned a couple of Lanvin bags (sold some, so now I only have one left) but all of them had quality issues. The medallion tarnished, the stitching was crooked, and the finish on the leather rubbed off very quickly even with very careful use. They are very pretty, but I don't think I'd spend a lot of money on Lanvin again.

Thanks so much I really appreciate your honesty and attention to detail. This would be my first and am not sure what to expect, I'd hate to be really disappointed if the quality is poor. Especially after owning lovely bags from Bvlgari, Miu miu, Prada and LV.

Maybe I'll order it and take a chance, I can send it back if it's not up to par.

Thanks so much;)

I have the Lanvin Amalia in a rose color, and a Kentucky bag in the bronze; for me, both of them held up beautifully through rains, subzero weathers, etc (I live in the north, so unfortunately such scenarios are unavoidable). However, I think the durability varies with style, the kind of leather used, and so on; go for it, that's such a pretty color bag!

Thanks so much for your input;) I decided to order it, I'll post my impressions...fingers crossed!!!

Update.....

Well.....this LANVIN bag arrived and went back the same day. I didn't even take pictures because there was no doubt I wasn't going to keep it. The colors were nice but the bag is so heavy and the leather is very thick. I knew right away it wasn't my style. Oh well, I thought I would try branching out to new brands but I'm not a LANVIN fan...at least in this style.

I bought this bag recently on sale, half price but in black and navy and I really like it. The long strap is different, thin and leather. Mine is very light, maybe they changed the leather for the new season.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Sugar bag? I kinda like it and am considering this one over a Chanel classic flap bag since it's MUCH cheaper.

Love this!

I just bought a Lanvin bag a couple of weeks ago and am in love with the leather and style.

I was worried about the weight of the chain hardware but once I held it in my hands it instantly became one of my favourites.

Hi baybay,

first of all: I've never seen the Jiji bag IRL - unfortunately. But I'm so tempted to put the trigger and purchase it. I fell in love with the red one. Online it looks like a perfect 'true red'.
I love flap bags: I do own Chanel flaps, one Valentino glam lock and a mini messenger from Bottega Veneta.
I'm looking for the perfect red flap bag (very important: with a chain strap!) to add it to my flap bags collection - and the Lanvin might fit the bill. :graucho:
The other choice would have been a Mulberry Lily flap bag, but the structured Jiji bag from Lanvin screams luxury!
What do you think about the slouchy Mulberry Lily? It's half the price of the Lanvin.

I'm more drawn to the Jiji. The only things I'm wondering: is the hardware a very intense gold colored tone? I'm more into silver hardware or pale gold hardware. Will it fit an iPad mini?

These are my thoughts on this gorgeous little bag.

Just to let you know: I decided for the Mulberry Lily bag (and a Fendi 'by the way' bag). Somehow the intense gold hardware on the Lanvin Jiji didn't speak to me. And the rubberized coating on the edges (black piping) was somewhat annoying on second inspection.
Did you decide to buy the bag?

I have a Lanvin tote in black, which is simply beautiful. The quality of the leather is great and I would buy that brand again. Actually, I was looking on Fashionphile earlier tonight, and saw a great looking Lanvin bag, but much smaller than I would want. If I remember correctly, it was a discounted price, plus very attractive.
