I'm really kicking myself now ... for not getting some of the older styles as well. The Quilted Amalia tote has AMAZING leather as well, soft as a babies bottom!! As a matter of fact, the leather reminds me of the "old" Balenciaga bags ... maybe that's why I like it ...

I just got the black Amalia tote from Net-A-Porter, it's TDF and the leather is the softest you can imagine! Also got the mustard satin mini pop flap on sale, it's a quicky alternative to Chanel.

I wonder why all the once die hard bbag gals are converting to Lanvin... LOL!

Thanks to my Internet sleuth TPF friends, I now OWN the above bag :yahoo:... how great is that?!?! It's MAGNIFICENT; the leather, the color ... everything!!

I also got my Polisson ... the metallic leather is TDF!! Will post pics as soon as I can!

*danae* ... I was constantly "fondling" the Amalia tote at Barneys!!! :p

The leather on the bags is just wonderful ... reminds me of the "old" Balenciaga bags; hence the reason why the die-hard B-Bag gals are converting ... ;):graucho:!!

Okay ... as promised, I've taken a few pictures of my new Lanvin Red Partage! Alas, the pics were taken with my iPhone, so I apologize that they aren't pristine ... and for some strange reason, the Red looks more Orange ... but believe me, it is a bright & gorgeous Cherry Red!!! The leather is gorgeous ... everything about the bag is UFB! I'm beyond thrilled!! :yahoo:

My metallic gold Happy has arrived and I'm completely in love - in the middle of a camera malfunction though so will post pics asap.

silverfern:heart: - please post pics of your gold Happy! I love my silver one to pieces... thought it would be a "special occasion" bag, but it's getting far more use than anticipated. Lanvin metallics go with EVERYTHING!

I am starting to eye Lanvin...I think the bags are edgy and feminine at the same time. Really uber cool. But I cannot buy at retail. Must wait for sales. I also like the fact that many of the bags are smaller, because I'm tired of carrying the kitchen sink with me.

You Ladies who own Lanvin: are they heavy?

I have two Lanvin bags at the moment and I have had two which I sold. I currently own two black bags from 2007, the names are nymphe and newton. I have sold a black quilted hero and a taupe ontario bag.

I really like Lanvin because the bags are not flashy nor do they have big logos on them. The only sad thing is that Lanvin bags are being faked now too, at least the popular Amalia style, so one has to be more careful if buying from Ebay.

TropicalGal, Lanvin bags are really light, at least compared to many other bags that I have owned or still own (Gryson, Prada, Balenciaga). All the bags that I have seen have been lined with the signature Lanvin fabric that is really light but at the same time durable.

I agree with *elinasofia* ... the bags are not heavy at all and they are not "flashy". I now have 3 Partages, 1 Rosa and the Polisson ... love them all. They are all superbly made (especially the metallics); the leather and the details are just wonderful ... very classy line (albeit - expensive!).

Not to despair *TropicalGal* ... other than my Rosa (which I managed to snap up on sale), I got all the rest of the bags on eBay ... paying far less than retail! Just keep looking ... the right one will show up!

I think it would be interesting CeeJay (the Lanvin thread).
I've been eyeing Lanvin, as edgier alternative to Chanel, also if I'm totally banned right now.
I'd love to see more modelling pictures, like the ones slinks has posted.
And tere could be a reference library to put all the information in it.
It could be useful.
