I just got the most amazing gift for my birthday, but now I'm torn about what to do. My husband sourced this second hand and while it is is pristine condition, there's a scratch on the back that I'm concerned about. I can feel the scratch with my finger. Is this what I should expect from box calf leather and just wear and love it? Or should I return? Thanks!!

Gorgeous bag- happy birthday and what a great gift! Box leather is prone to scratches. Do you like the design of the bag, or is that more of the reason you would prefer to return it? Either way, it's gorgeous!

Was the scratch disclosed on the listing? That might be my concern if I thought I was getting a pristine bag. It's true that box calf leather scratches. Having the bag conditioned might help it blend a bit cosmetically although it does look deeper (and if you say you can feel it then it probably is) so there's only so much conditioning could do.

I think if the scratch was disclosed and the price accounted for it, I'd let it go. If you were advertised a pristine bag then personally I'd either want some money back or I'd return it (but I can be super persnickety about that kind of thing - as you'll see up-thread in my own drama with this bag purchased from the boutique! LOL).

It is a fabulous bag both in practicality and whimsy and I just love mine. I hope you get a good resolution either way. Happy birthday!

The universelle is still a good product but the formulation uses lower quality ingredients as it is part of the regular line up (not the gold medal line). I wouldn’t skimp on products when it comes to a pricy bag like Delvaux. (At least in my opinion!)
They specifically mention box under the intended uses for the Napa cream. View attachment 6124021

The mink oil in renovateur isn’t present in the nappa / macadamia / reptile formulations either so I’d feel more confident using those in order to prevent any alterations in the finish of your leathers. The renovateur is still a good product I’ve just not personally had great experiences with it…
Thank you! That's very useful info.

I've been eyeing this co pin for over a year (I got the toy pin in the green color from the same 2023 collection) and it's been slowly being removed from the website until there was only this Blush color left to I thought I may as well get it, or the pink will be gone
Just threw in the small pouch for good measure
