Argh! Thank you for the review and pics! These are just so playful and fun! I did wonder about the practicality but it seems usable! I do need a smaller evening/occasion type of bag so this might be the ticket.

It sounds like they are a special order?

I love that size of Tempête as well! But if that is a style and color that will always be around, maybe do the mini! 😍
Not special order but LE with a handful in the US and around the world per piece. I was told that with box calf the stiffness helps keep the tongue in the buckle without need to fasten it so I’m currently considering it. I just was sidetracked by a Chanel vanity in the most uncommon green I was completely derailed! Anyways, there are some other Magritte pieces but I totally forgot to photograph those. This was interesting as well. A reissue of a vintage design in brushed palladium IMG_4362.jpeg

I love the Caprice bags!! Vintage Delvaux designs in general just make me swoon. 😍

I think that makes sense about the stiffness keeping things in place. I have finally gotten the hang of opening my L'Humour with minimal struggle but it definitely required some fiddling at first! I'm going to have to chat with my SA about the wavy. What did you think of the bonbon pink color? I'm leaning toward black bc it's so classic (and I think the pink is a little light for me) but I always wonder if I should branch into different colors.

Let us know if you end up getting it (I hope you do!!)! Would love to hear your review. 🤩

Has anyone visited any stores in Belgium (other parts of Europe as well). Trying to plan future vacations, and wondering if it's worth stopping in/alotting time for Delvaux shopping, especially the headquarters. I'm not really feeling the new bags lately but was wondering if there are any old season bags maybe in Belgium still hanging around on shelves? I really liked the mid to late 2010s designs.
I don't think you'll find older collections in the Delvaux stores. There are many places in Belgium where you can find second hand bags. You have to be careful though, not only for fake bags, but also for repainted/repaired bags. Some professionals can do a good job, but I have heard stories about people who bought a bag that peeled, scratched very easy or even got discolored after a few walks in the sun.

Typo..meant to say ‘unwelcomed.’

The SA I spoke to was fairly new but she did ask her manager who backed her statement. They would only handle bags that come with a receipt or authentication card. She mentioned there’s alot of fakes on the market. When I asked what about family heirlooms passed down from generations, how can you expect to have proof of purchase? She replied that they could look up the purchase record by orginal owner’s name.
I used to bring my bags without the autentication card (about ten years ago). They never asked for it. But if you don't have it, you can have your bag authenticated by Delvaux. I've heard it's about 100 euros to get a new authentication card.

Indeed!

The renovateur has mild cleaning agents so it can strip a bit of colour. It’s not a big issue for shoes since they sell their own pigmented creams to restore colour but not ideal for bags. 🤣
I've noticed that the lotion also contains mild cleaning agents ("It is ideal for the gentle cleaning of smooth leathers"). Is it less harsh than the renovateur? Or could it also strip colour? Most of my bags are black, dark brown or dark blue, so I guess they're a bit more prone to this than lighter coloured bags.

Saphir advised the nappa cream for my bags, although they are grained leather. Someone who collects Delvaux purses told me the Saphir Creme Universelle is also a very good product for the grained leather or box calf.

The universelle is still a good product but the formulation uses lower quality ingredients as it is part of the regular line up (not the gold medal line). I wouldn’t skimp on products when it comes to a pricy bag like Delvaux. (At least in my opinion!)
They specifically mention box under the intended uses for the Napa cream. IMG_8710.jpeg

The mink oil in renovateur isn’t present in the nappa / macadamia / reptile formulations either so I’d feel more confident using those in order to prevent any alterations in the finish of your leathers. The renovateur is still a good product I’ve just not personally had great experiences with it…

How do we feel about this maritime inspired tempete? Anybody see it irl?
They have it in Vancouver. I’m not personally getting the maritime vibes but rather a tribal vibe.

Like a more modern version of this bag from SS18.

I’d be interested to see how the exposed stitching that looks kinda loose would age over time though. (On the maritime one)

I don’t like it personally. Tbh looks kind of sloppy. I do look forward to lighter colors in the tempete crispy calf leather though.
