If it sells, then it was a wise design choice. I hope for Delvaux's sake, this design appeals to other people.I suppose its another René Magritte reference (the melted handle?)
Not much talk but honestly with how narrow it is…. Not sure how much use you could get out of it. Far less practical than the lingot…Has there been any talk about the Léonce on this forum? Seems like a nice sleek crossbody. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions/experience? I’m looking for a slim night to day essentials bag, slightly more unisex. Looked at the Lingot, but maybe this would be even better 🤷🏻♂️. I feel the Lingot would be too much for walking around my neighborhood or going to brunch.
I saw that get listed! It looked sus to me too. And a LOT of fakes are being sold from Kazakhstan on eBay.Please do not buy this one on eBay. I reported counterfeit but eBay refused to take the listing off. This one is counterfeit.

The ones with fabric words are very pretty in person with how much they pop! The only real downside is the one the SA mentioned (harder to maintain)… especially long term when you want to condition the leather you have to be very careful not to touch the words!Hi y'all! Really love this community and have enjoyed reading through your posts and admiration for Delvaux! I have an upcoming trip to Paris and am so excited to go to the Delvaux boutique! (If any of you have tips or have had a fun experience there, I'd love to hear stories). I've already been in touch with a lovely SA and while I want to explore a few different bags (this will be my first time to see Delvaux in person), I am very interested in L'Humour bag. As a former French major and linguist, it just delights me, as does most of the Magritte collection.
So here's my low-stakes conundrum: They have a black one available now; they will have one in the color "Pacific" (this lovely dark blue/gray) for their spring collection. The SA told me if I want that color, I could put it on a wishlist. I'm currently weighing the pros and cons of getting one in black and calling it a day, or maybe looking at a smaller purchase while I'm there and getting the gray one in the spring. It's possible I actually will be back in Paris early next year and could pick it up there instead of shipping it to the US, but TBD.
Again, this is a low-stakes conundrum but always love opinions and thoughts and being talked into or out of things. I will say that I did look at the pre-loved route but given the delight this bag has for me, plus the whole deal of being in Paris, being able to try in person, and wanting a special souvenir...I'm happy to buy new (also wasn't super impressed with conditions/prices of current pre-loved out there right now). Thanks!
- He did mention that the thread/embroidery on the gray bag is not great for everyday use...i'd definitely want to use the bag, maybe not every day, but for sure I'm going to enjoy it
- The gray bag will be pricier, whether due to regular price increases or color (or both!) I'm not sure.
- Uncertainty of any savings/VAT refund from buying in Paris if I wait for the gray one (if I'm going to be there anyway, that's great but wont know that for another couple months)
- The black bag really is so classic and chic
- Pacific blue is really pretty and it's new!
- It's of course always possible that I try on the bag and hate it due its weight, size, etc. and end up buying something entirely different
As a side note, I see myself getting so sucked into these every season as they do a new release, color, style, artistic take. Sigh.

Thank you @Christofle and @yuzulife! Gosh, now you both have me super curious/excited to see the embroidery up close! Hmmm I did not think about the embroidery in terms of leather conditioning (only day to day dirt/wear)...that might be tricky. Will for sure chat with my SA about that. I agree the box leather is so dreamy! Very happy to hear the black Magritte at least is always in production - I hoped that would be the case, since I know it's been out a while, but definitely don't want to miss out! What a fun conundrum! Pacific is quite a pretty color and since it'll be part of the Spring/Summer 2025 line, you have time to think about it I feel. I love the L'Humour Brillant and believes it only comes in the MM size currently. Since your Paris visit may be relatively soon, my recommendation is to visit the boutique, see all the models/sizes, and try them on first before deciding! The black L'Humour is regularly in production so I wouldn't worry about not being able to source it if that's what you end up deciding on. The Box leather with stitching is a stunner - so pretty in person! They did have a Brillant L'Amour (also Magritte inspired) in the PM size, and I've seen it floating around in several US boutiques in the last several months, so it may still be available. If you end up liking the PM size, you can try to have that one sourced instead. Have a wonderful time and hope you share photos!
PS: The larger sizes are quite heavy if that’s a concern for you!Thank you @Christofle and @yuzulife! Gosh, now you both have me super curious/excited to see the embroidery up close! @yuzulife I LOVE that L'amour bag...curious, have you seen it in colors besides white? That's all I've been able to spy online; maybe I'll reach out to my SA about that too. Of course it's hard to know without trying things on but I feel like the PM size is kind of a sweet spot. Super excited to try things on and finally see everything up close and in person! Will share pics and an update for sure!!
Thank you for the heads up; I've heard similarly! It's not a deal breaker, especially because I love the design so much, but definitely want to hold it a bit to make sure. Wish they made it in more sizes to have options! I did laugh because my SA told me they had an older version in an even bigger size! Will probably pass on that.PS: The larger sizes are quite heavy if that’s a concern for you!
