Ya’ll - my MTO Delvaux is here!! I was in NYC for work these last few days, and my SA texted me to let me know the bag had just arrived from France. The timing was perfect - I headed over to the 5th Ave store to pick up my new bag.

My bag is the black crispy calf Tempete with black shiny hardware. The bag is EXTREMELY well made; I just bought and returned a Chanel bag just two weeks prior, so it’s very interesting to compare the quality of both. The leather smells divine, and I love the veiny-ness of the leather and how robust it is.

Overall, it was a ~4month wait for my bag which is more than reasonable for a made to order bag. The SA said black hardware will no longer be available so I consider myself very lucky. I am very impressed with Delvaux customer service and will stay loyal to the brand.

WOW. This makes my black heart all fluttery! Congratulations on getting this last black shiny hw special piece made. Crispy calf in Tempete is the best. 🖤

All of these great brands -- Delvaux, The Row, Moynat -- make such gorgeous bags. Even Fendi has some beauties. Am I the only one having a hard time pulling the trigger when they are so expensive? As much or more than my Hermes bags (which are not brand new). I certainly have gotten some Delvaux and The Row but I want more.....

Agreed, but "hard time pulling the trigger" is just another way of saying "easy to not buy more." :biggrin:

I don’t mind the prices to an extent but the fact many of these brands are not even saddle-stitched at their current prices has made me looking elsewhere.

I have a mental block when paying over 10k for a bag. It should be at the bare minimum hand stitched.

They don’t have a creative director, they don’t have seasonal themes and I’m not sure which direction this boat is sailing.

I’m hoping they don’t lose their way like Burberry did because having to deal with that once was heartbreaking enough.
