So I thought I'd follow up on my Pin City after nearly one year. This bag is great at what it does. If this style of bag appeals to you, I would give it a very high recommendation. I have not seen a better version of this style of bag and I've been looking. There are a few things that I'd share after kicking this around for 11 months:
1. Still looks as good as new. Delvaux's jumping calf leather holds its shape and is durable - this bag is not given the white glove treatment.
2.
People ask about it a lot. I regularly get asked about this bag or get compliments about it when shopping. I was asked about it in Hermes by my SA. Male and female servers often ask about it in restaurants. This week I was asked about it by an SA in a Chanel boutique. She asked if in came in black. My sense was she has a boyfriend or male partner who would be interested. After a short chat, she thanked me and walked away, and pulled up her phone no doubt to look more details up on the Delvaux website.
3. This bag is rare - I've not seen another Pin City in the wild.
4. I've never used the front exterior pocket.
5. My one criticism is that if you have loose change in the bag, it's hard to access. The bag opening is somewhat limited as you can see below (BTW, the zipper is fully open in the picture). For the bag opening to be wider, Delvaux would need to change the pocket gusset, zipper length, and change the leather to a more pliable version. However, these changes could have downsides to losing the overall structure of the bag. So, for this version of the bag, I would recommend using a change purse rather than needing to access loose coins. This way, less struggle.
All in all, I have no post purchase regrets, and feel this is a unique and wonderfully designed bag. Bravo, Delvaux!
Now I just need to figure out if I should get a Brillant or a Tempete (leaning towards the Brillant in Rodeo Calf

)...
