Thank you!! I only see one pic? But can you confirm that the style number is 100667 213048? It is not on the list, and I have never seen the back of the tag of the 3rd season.. But to the best om my knowledge the bag is for real..

Ok sorry to bump this up again.

I just received my 02 black pebbled FBF, and noticed that the O rings are not welded shut, or if they were, they're opened now. I have reason to believe that the seller did not disclosed that the zipper might have been replaced at some stage. There's very obvious stitching done to the lining on the inside of the top zipper, and the zipper doesn't seem to be the color as the actual brass hardware.

I've attached pics below:

Front - is it my imagination or does the zipper on both the top and front looks like they are not the same color as the brass pulls?

I still think it's authentic, but am I right that the zippers might have been replaced? Would that account for the big gap in the O ring on the top? The O ring on the top looks more pewter/silver rather than the brass one on the front zipper.

Attaching more pics in the next post. Any help on shedding light on the mystery is muchly appreciated!

I've posted this here because this is my go-to thread with regards to fbf, and figured any additional info pertaining to fbf will be relevant here. Hope that's ok!

The yellow stitching is rather odd, but from the outside the zippers look like they're original. Are they YKK? (should be marked on the sliding part of the zipper) If they were replaced, looks like it was a reasonably good job. The actual color of the zipper doesn't look off to me - perhaps it's more obvious IRL.

The O-rings - I think they weren't as meticulously welded shut on the earlier bags. Still, this one looks like it's been bent in/out of shape :confused1:

Yeah, the yellow stitching was what caused me to have a really close look at everything, because the seller said it was new without tags, and in the description she said it's only been carried a couple of times, and it's in "
absolutely excellent condition - no sign of wear whatsoever!" :push:

This bag was deemed a fake at first on the ATB thread, but I chimed in and expressed my opinion that it is authentic, so I decided to put my money where my mouth is and put in a bid which I won. I DO still think it's authentic! I'm just a tad annoyed that the seller did not disclose the repair done to the zipper/lining. You can't really see the top edge of the lining in my pic, but it's been sniped off, so it's actually a raw edge on most of the top lining.

The zippers are YKK.

this is great info Jade!!

and I can not believe that the seller didn't disclose the modificatons :wtf:

it sort of looks like you are right about the zipper, why else would there be stitching on that top line?? and yellow?!?! :push:

but the bag is gorgeous

I would be BEYOND livid at that shoddy repairwork. That yellow stitching is terribly done. What has the seller said? I mean you paid A LOT of money for a bag that is totally not as described.

I am so sorry *hugs*

Hi gals!

The seller said that when she took the bag out of storage, she noticed that there was some lining separation, so she took it to a "craftsman" to have it repaired. Apparently the only repairs done was the yellow stitched bits, and the zipper is original. I've compared the top zipper teeth to the front, and it does look like they are the same color, in that it is a little bit lighter than the zipper pulls, but the front zipper doesn't look like it's been repaired/replaced. I noticed on one of my other bbags that the zipper teeth is lighter also, maybe due to constant zipping/unzipping?

She said that when she inspected the bag, she was satisfied that it was restored to its original condition, and that very few people would "ever notice something so minor (not that I was trying to hide it). I just felt it was irrelevent."

She then went on to say that she feels horrible abt this, and would like to satisfy anyone buying from her, and she offered a partial refund.

I do like the bag, and everything else is perfect, except for that awful jagged yellow stitching, so I accepted her offer of the small refund and will use that to get a better job done on the lining.

I don't think she was being deceitful, I've learnt that the condition of bbags are very subjective, what passes for mint to one person might not to another.

She was quite reasonable and offered the partial refund without me asking for anything, so I guess I'll chalk this up to experience and remember to ask ALL my usual questions when I am interested in bags being auctioned. I usually ask if there has been any repairs/restoration done to the bag, but neglected to this time because the bag seemed mint, and she advertised it as such. Won't make the same mistake again, that's for sure!

I will take more pics of my fbf and post detailed pictures of the hw/handles, rivets etc etc for comparison when I have more time to take pics, maybe this wkend!

I would defintely ask for bigger refund (like half off)??? Any repairs certainly should have been disclosed. I hardly even trust sending one to Balenciaga to be repaired much less a "craftsman"

Somehow I don't think she will agree to half off, that's a significant amount. I guess I could have returned it, but I do like the bag, so I kept it.

I believe that one was authentic too: LP chimed in that the bags were hand made and not in exclusive Balenciaga factories, so the lining was just a fluke

For what it's worth, I thought everything abt that bag looked authentic too, except for the lining.

BUT, would you buy a fbf with a pierre cardin lining? I wouldn't, not even if I know I am keeping it forever. Upside down buckles are one thing, a completely 'off' lining with another brand name is another. At the back of my mind I will always wonder if the bag is authentic, and I don't want to have that hanging over me.
