The Le Dix - is generally referred to a first season '01 bags only. They have a gold tag that say le dix in them. Here is my '01 first edition classique le dix:
I agree with was previously said, 2002 and 2003 bags wih pewter HW and a longer strap are a rare find.

Very pretty bag. I was thinking about it myself but I am on a bag ban. I am still a bit nervous about buying on Ebay, especially the older bags. I would love to know if someone on here bought this.

Hi! I was wondering if someone could confirm that the fbf came with a mirror from the SECOND season it was made, ie, SS02? I recently acquired a season 2 fbf, and it came with a mirror, but I've come across a seller who insisted that season 2 fbf did not come with a mirror?

Yes, this sounds right. My SS02 hobo has a mirror, but my Le Dix doesn't. I seem to recall from LP's blog
that starting with the second season, the designer wanted to give women a little something extra.
Thanks slinks! That's what I thought too, but this seller insisted that she bought hers from Barneys brand new without a mirror, and I know it's definitely a SS02 fbf she was selling. The funny thing is, she claimed that another interested buyer told her that season 2 fbf did not come with a mirror too, so it made me wondered if I was tripping because I was sure I read somewhere that it did! My le dix didn't have a mirror for sure too! Thanks so much!

I think as with most of Balenciaga's changes they make a lot of them mid-production, so we'll have seasons where we see both the old way and the new way in various bags. Like in Pre-Spring '05 they changed from big, round rivets to smaller ones with notches... there were even a few bags with both types of rivets. In early '03 and '04 bags sometimes the interior tag was still just leather and other times it became a metal plate in the First and City bags. Then recently we have the leather material change, so in F/W '07 some bags were chevre and others were agneau.
So therefore, I have a reasonable suspicion that if the bag was purchased at Barney's in 2002 then it may not have come with a mirror and the next shipment of Balenciaga First bags did come with mirrors. I guess someone could contact Corporate Balenciaga and ask whether the mirror was added in the beginning of S/S '02 bag production or if it was slightly after some bags were manufactured.
I wish the mirrors and straps didn't get misplaced so easily... I love all the original parts ;o)

I was hoping for realdeal to come forward... I am considering a 3rd season fbf 2002 - and the bag looks good to me, but I need to know what the stylenumber on the FBF of this season is..
I brought my 2002 Suede - but only the serial number matched - but that seems ok, since it has raised silver, and the other is FB.. but again, I hope to hear from someone who knows 100%
