So it's only worth it to keep her bag if she leaves it the way she got it? I don't agree. It is her bag, she can do whatever she pleases to it.

^Eh, a fine piece of artwork is valued for it scarcity - there's usually only ONE.

If there was only one birkin and she did this to it - gasp!!! That'd be shocking.

But there are thousands and thousands out there. I was at an event last night and saw at least 6 birkins (and that's in middle America, not Paris or New York). They're not common, but they're not THAT scarce. And you can always get another one. As long as its hers, she can do whatever warms her heart with it. Jane Birkin herself (and her daughter) had a rep for knocking and trampling their new Birkins to make them more worn in and pliable.

Obviously, she is entitled to do whatever she wants, since she presumably purchased the Birkin. That said, I think it's beyond tacky. Wear a button or write it on your forehead haha.

Given that she probably didn't even pay for the bag, it would be like anyone writing on free bag. She publicity she had gotten for this stint would be worth a 100 times the cost of a Birkin. To each their own, she'll probably never carry the bag again

I like her songs, and she seems cool in interviews, but her constant attempt at shock factor is getting old, like Marilyn Manson.

I so agree with you. I remember when Madonna came on the scene in the mid 80's and eveyone was taken aback by her shock value. Fast forward 25+ years and there seems to be a new 'clone', albeit a somewhat better singer, on the scene. I can't stop thinking 'deja vu'.
