The original La Mer packaging is lacklustre. Is it better to get this?

Hi! For me, I don't really care about the packaging as I don't save the jars. If you save the jars, this one is limited and you can start collecting them. The product inside though is the same.

For me, I buy based on jar size and price. My thoughts on jar sizes...
La Mer expires 24 months after opening. However, I don't like to use old or aging products, so I buy the largest size that will last me 12-18 months. For me, I buy the 3.4oz jar. It is also a much better price point.

Here is the math compared to the 1oz jar:
1oz jar - $200
2oz jar - $380 (or equivalent to $190 per oz or 5% discount)
3.4oz jar - $570 (or equivalent to $167.64 per oz or 16% discount)
16.5oz jar - $2545 (or equivalent to $154.25 per oz or 23% discount)

I always buy the 3.4oz size and it lasts me about a year. The 16.5oz has the best discount, but it's for folks who use it for their body. There is on way one can finish 16.5oz in 24 months unless you slather it on everywhere.

I do the same for The Concentrate in case you might like that. It comes in a jumbo 3.4oz size which price per ounce is a great discount.

Hope that helps in your decision on which one to buy.

I asked ChatGPT:
What's better La Prairie or La Mer?

Both La Prairie and La Mer are luxury skincare brands that offer high-quality products. The choice between the two depends on personal preferences and specific skin needs. Some people may prefer La Prairie for its anti-aging focus, while others may prefer La Mer for its hydration and nourishment properties. It is recommended to try samples of both brands and consult with a dermatologist or skin care professional to determine which one is the best fit for you.

I started using La Prairie before my 20s. My mother loved the brand and bought me some products from a relatively light line that La Prairie no longer carries. Since then, I've used most of their products, frequently alternating with La Mer and Sisley. If I had to evaluate these 3 brands it would be in this order: 1) La Prairie, 2) Sisley and 3) La Mer. That being said, La Mer Broad Spectrum SPF 50 is my favorite facial sunscreen.
