Then I don't think La Prairie is suitable for you, I have combo/dry skin, I used La Prairie before, I stopped not only because it's expensive, mostly because it didn't do anything to me. I still have the serum here, I can't use it because the smell/fragrance is just too strong.

I tried La mer too, it's very very rich, the lotion is better but I think will still be a bit much for oily skin.

Amada, Sheseido cleanser is solid. I used it for a very long time when I was younger, I stopped using it because it's a little drying for me, but I can imagine it will be perfect for oily skin type. I love the foaming cleanser, a little bit goes a long way, so the tube lasts forever. My husband is using the men's line now, he loves the cleanser.

Swee7bebe, have you consider the more natural brands? Such as Decleor, Yonka? I must say Decleor is very gentle and shows good result. I absolutely love the Yonka Gel Nettoyant (also a eyemakeup remover), it's very light and foams up a little, it takes away makeup including mascara, perfect for lazy people like me. It's very gentle, my face never feels tight after, actually very soft yet very effective.

You can also try looking at http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/ you can post your question or read up reviews from people with the same skin type as you.

the shiseido foaming cleanser really will last forever, i can't believe how large the tube is for how much you need to use! and it wasn't even expensive. plus i love the little face brush, it's so cute. and the difference in my skin tone and texture was almost instant.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE La Prairie!
I think the range is great. There is something for everyone and the formulations are some of the best I have used. I use the 'smart' day moisturiser. It has an SPF15 in it and is so light and fluffy in texture that it just absorbs into your skin like a dream.
I have the de-sensitizing serum that is great. It goes straight into your skin and is really great.
The retexturizing booster serum I thought was a tad too harsh on my skin, but that is the only thing from the range I have tried and not been 100% with.
The skin caviar luxe cream is gorgeous. I use this at night and you need the smallest amount. I wake up to gorgeous soft skin.
I also have the refining toner which is alcohol free and is great.
I have both the smart eye cream for day and the cellular eye contour cream for night. Both are brilliant, and unlike La mer eye balm, they have not caused milia under my eye.
I also have the extrait of skin caviar and the essence of skin caviar which is FANTASTIC. It is a gel that you can put around the eyes and on your lids for instant toning. It is great for getting rid of puffy eyes first thing and you can really feel it tingling.
I use the spot treatment by La Prairie too, which I really like as I get occasional spots and this really helps get rid of them FAST!
I have La mer also. I use the original creme de la mer for when my skin is really dry and I need it. I also have the La mer moisture lotion which is really good but a bit too rich for everyday use so this is mostly for when I feel my skin needs it.
The La mer lipbalm is the best EVER! It is divine and I will buy it forever!
I also love the La mer handcream. It makes your hands look fabulous.
Hope this helps!

I think I've tried every skin care line on the market, expensive and not so expensive. What I learned is that the key is keeping your skin clean and moisturized. Less product on your skin, the better. Staying out of the sun as much as possible and good genes count too! Plenty of sleep and lots of water are also VERY important. Don't smoke, keep alcohol to a minimum. Eat lots of fruit and veggies.
That said, I use ProActiv myself. Very minimal product to deal with. And I LOVE their Green Tea moisturizer.

I recently bought the anti-aging cream and my skin actually does look better. I am usually skeptical of new products after working for a day spa and seeing that expensive didn't equate with better. So, if anyone has had an experience, good or bad, with this line let me know what you thought of it.

I use several La Prairie products and I LOVE them. I have had problem skin (oily) for so long, and I can safely say this is the best skincare I have ever used, and I have tried everything.

I use the time-release moisturizer and it's amazing. I also use the normalizing serum, the hydrating moisturizer with SPF, and the contour eye cream. The products feel so nice and natural on my skin, and they have made my skin SMOOTH and soft. Finally!

In fact, as I am typing, I am wearing the deep cleansing clay mask, which I use twice a week. It's awesome too.

I sampled ALL of these products for a few weeks before buying, so I was sure I wanted to invest in them. Also I have a wonderful SA at the San Francisco Nordstrom, so any of you in SF, go there and ask for Alyssa!

I forgot to subscribe to this thread after I started it! Now that I've been using it a couple weeks, I really love La Prairie! I have sensitive skin and it's been really dry because of winter, BUT the La Prairie eliminated the dryness and I haven't besome red or irritated. :jammin:

My skin has changed since I moved to the middle east. In Europe my skin was constantly very dry on the surface but my skin tend to be more oily/ combination now. I use La Prairie for my face and love the anti-aging complex which I use under my Smart cream spf15 and cellular night cream. I will continue to buy the anti-aging compex even if its very expensive. It makes my skin silky smooth and even. I'm only 30 years old but I have always taken my skincare regimen very serious.

I use these products from L.P:

-Cleansing Foam ( love this products whivh takes away all my makeup without drying my skin)
-Anti-Aging complex cream (amazing product I cant live without:yes: )
-Smart cream spf 15 day (the perfect day cream for my skin)
-Cellular night cream night (normal night cream)
-Smart eye cream spf 15 (hydrating and I need an eye cream with spf during the day)
-Age managment eye cream night against dark circles and puffiness (my biggest concern is dark circles and puffiness. Other than that I don't have any wrinkles).

aie aie after spending 150 € of various things at Sephora, the SA gave me samples....just looking at my skin (sensitive, easily irritated, combination normal/dry w. pimples due to hormones) she gave me LA PRAIRIE "The De-sensitizer" serum and hydrating serum samples to calm the skin.
OMG, just a tiny sample that lasted 2 days and I already could see the difference, my skin was more even (less redness and imperfections).
BUT I hesitate buying more 130-140 $ products.
Is it really better than the other stuff ?
Second question : if I buy the serum only, will that be OK or do i have to buy the entire La Prairie line ? :push:

I think cosmetic products work differently on each and every person. If you found one that works well with your skin then stick to it and spend the $$$.

Amore Pacific has worked wonders with mine and so that is what I am using. And I have tried them all.
