you think that's bad? I know girls who post selfies and use hash tags like #beauty #prettygirl #beautifulgirl and so on. I'm like :amazed:
Instagram narcissism is the worst. I don't mind a little showing off (I'm on here after all), but please #stayhumble.

Yes!!! It's so funny because I was like "let's practice" so I did a selfie with a kissy face and a peace sign... I had 6 likes within minutes  Now I'm sure that's how you're supposed to use IG! :p

I tried doing that too... but felt so stupid, so I did it without the peace sign since that was overdoing it, haha. I felt vapid.

I just joined yesterday! What I find hilarious are the selfies some of my friends post, that have hash tags like #selfie, #(something)swag, #stayfit, #Like4like... Haha. And of course some celebrities are doing the same. I also find the whole "Rich Kids Of Instagram" phenomenon hilarious in a way.

I'll have to check out the rich kids one! It is interesting getting on IG, though...I've seen a whole different side to many of my friends. The selfies and OOTDs were part of what got me to join--I wanted to see what my other friends were laughing about, and now I get it! :graucho:

I see the #nofilter one and roll my eyes. I also don't get the #ootd one--really, who gives? But I guess that's the point of IG--a place where you can post all the pics and get away with it. Kind of how twitter is your chance to post facebook statuses nonstop without judgement you'd get on facebook, kwim?

LOL @ the bolded part.:lolots:

I completely get what you mean. I follow some local and international celebs on IG (I don't have an IG profile myself so I just follow those who have a non private profile) and I've seen that many times. I think that IG brings out the selfishness in people.

The advent of technology in general has, in my opinion. Phone cameras which are much easier to take pictures of oneself on, and celebrity culture which just perpetuates this. Add this to the tons of filters and apps available to take ultra flattering photos of oneself and voila, narcissism reaches new heights.

Very good post. Celebrity lifestyle and the access we have to it (by seeing paparazzi pics of celebs shopping, dining out, travelling around the world and looking fabulous because most of them have a team of make-up artists and hair stylists surrounding them) has definitely influenced the way people perceive appearances.

Back to topic: Kylie had an Alice in Wonderland themed party.
