Oh sorry to hear about your incident but I'm glad you found your wallet! I think people sometimes have no idea how precious some of the items are...

Btw I found this thread. See #14 post. It's old but made me hopeful.

http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes/hermes-spa-689968.html

I also decided not to stress over it and just enjoy the wallet. It sounds like turn lock can be replaced and I was lucky that it fell on the turn lock not on the leather.

I'll ask Claude or my SA at Madison next time I buy something there but it might not happen for a while since I'm trying to control my spending and spread it over time. I just bought K and KW so no store visit for a while...

Thanks so much for the link. Very helpful! I didn't even think to comb thru this thread for past experiences. Since that was in 2011 I'm think it is closer to $300 now but great to know the options out there. I'll live with my issue for now also. Good idea to not to breathe H and go into the store if you don't want to temp yourself. Extremely dangerous! Lol!!

Understand how you feel. I scratched the bottom of the Kelly wallet turnlock by accident whilst peeling off the stickers and trying out the kelly, wonder how I did that and it freaks me out so much that i have yet it use it. For kelly wallet owners, any tips on handling it, does it need to be babied and will it scratch the interior of the bag. I realize my fingers are not as long, so I need to sort of fold it a bit to see the inside as the width is longer than other wallets. Do you use the coin compartment or try to minimize the usage by having separate wallets or card holders, Mine is in Epsom. Was thinking of getting a silk in or Azap wallet which seems easier to use, and reserving kelly for special occasions,

I'm thinking of getting an azap too. Deciding between the Silkin or the leather one. Will the silk be getting dirty and damaged pretty easily ?

I use a bag insert on all of my H bags. It protects inside of the bag but more importantly it helps to organize items inside. So no concern on Kelly wallet scratching a bag for me.

Also I use the coin compartment. I was upset when I dropped my wallet and scratched the turn lock but generally I don't baby my wallet. I figure it's going to get scratched and rubbed sooner or later. I rather use it a lot and get another one if it needs to be replaced than babying a wallet and not using it. The only way to make the $$ of wallet worth is to use it often, IMO. :)

I sometimes use a bag insert. But one should help. I don't use a separate coin purse. I just use the coin compartment. Honestly a separate coin purse is way too much trouble and I am a firm believer and using the wallet as intended. Does the inside of the coin compartment get dirty, yes but u don't really care. These wallets are built to last.

I had an all leather Azap that I used non-stop for over 5 years. Does to look used, yes but does it still look good after all these years? Heck yes! I am also not one to overly baby my wallets. I can be known to abuse it just a bit but again, this wallet had truly worn well. Could I still use the Azap? Yup, for many more years to come but I thought I'd change it up a bit and try something new and fresh so now I use a KW.

Btw, both are Epsom leather. It has really worn well so I do recommend it. Oh, and for me, I would only choose a darker color if you're not kind to your wallets. I say this based on experience.

I love the Azap. So easy to use, functional and long lasting. I had the all leather version. Still in great condition after 5 years. Inch easier to use than the KW. Is it as stylish, nope but there are many pros vs the KW. Almost got a Silkin. Price is fantastic and I've been told it lasts well also but this is third party info.

Thanks so much for the info!! Could you please post a picture of your 5 year old azap? Thanks again dear!!! :)

I prefer to use the coin compartment in the wallet too! But I do have a separate card holder to get all the cards that I don't use as often :) my KW is in Epsom so I'm thinking to get a goatskin for azap lol

Sure. Here you go. Sorry. It's not the best pic but hopefully it will give you a good idea for now. I can take a yet pic tomorrow in the day which will be better lighting. Right now it's night here and lighting is tricky and making the wallet extra shiny. The Epsom leather has smoothed out some with my constant hand holding. I also sometimes over stuff the wallet. I don't think it stretched out too much either, some but not terribly noticeable. Given how much I've used it and abused it at times I think it has done well. I baby my bags better than my wallet.

Btw, the color is blue thalassa.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much sweetie! The wallet looks so much well loved!! I appreciate you take the time and effort! 😘😘😘

Here are a couple more pics in proper daylight. Hopefully this will show the wallet more accurately. I included one pic of the corner after 5 years of constant use.

Thanks for sharing the pics, dessert1st. Nice to see how well the epsom leather holds up after constant use. Yours still looks really good! Now I don't have to worry too much about babying mine.

Thank you again dear dessert1st! Your wallet definitely looks gorgeous! Now I'm really really tempted! I'm visit my SA tomorrow so let's see what they have :)

Thanks ladies! Yes, I have really loved using my wallet and I could for many more years to come. I will say that I feel color and leather makes a big difference in how your wallet will look after years if use. I will not buy a light color wallet. Had a blue jean dogon in a leather no longer produced and it didn't fare as well. Lastly, don't worry about babying a wallet (of course don't be crazy) but I have been known to throw my wallet around and just shove it in a handbag when in a rush. For me a wallet is the best H value if you factor in cost per wear.
