Ladies, need ur advice please.
SA offer me Kelly Long wallet in Orange PHW. she said it is hard to come by.
Is true? is the Kelly long wallet hard to come by or just the orange color of Kelly long wallet that is hard to come by?
for those who own it, is it practical?
seems with the strap etc might be too complicated to open and close.
also would you suggest Kelly long wallet or Kelly pochette?
honestly I am not in need of wallet or pochette right now, but it is just such a beauty

There is a kelly wallet thread in the clubhouse....maybe you should check there.
I think rarity is regional. I know in my area, kelly wallets have become more rare than other styles.
All this said, I've own one and haven't used it yet....so I can't comment on its functionality....but like you....I didn't need a wallet at the time....so that might be the reason it sits in the closet!

I check the Kelly wallet but it is just a thread people post picture, it does not really answer my questions
I'm interested to know how easy the Kelly wallet is to use, my SA showed me an Orange GHW but I declined although its something I would like to add to my collection but only if its user friendly
From what I know, it isn't extremely practical to open each time with the straps (which you could leave undone) but it is very versatile. It can be used as an evening clutch/purse and as a wallet.

I use it, I leave the straps undone underneath. But I absolutely love using it as a clutch or
with the Farandole chain or a scarf as a shoulderbag.

Hmm.. I am still not sold on this kelly wallet. Mayb i will regret it in the future just curious, does SA get comission from selling wallet?

They are fairly difficult to come by. I searched the globe for a bouganvillea and DH found it in the UK on a trip. I could have reeled in an orange or one of the more classic colors -- this was a few years ago.
The wallet holds a lot!! It is not really a pia to deal with the straps but it's not a zipper eiither. I used to grumble about the fastening the straps on a kelly purse, no more. Why? I pull the turnlock out and hold it so it can't recede. The wallet is firmer (no space for the turnlock to recede) so you can leave the straps open if you are in a wild rush or close them. It's indeed a lovely piece and versatile.
Don't know about the commission on the wallet. Maybe it is split amongst the store, maybe not. That was not a deciding factor. I wanted a bouganvillea KL and ddn't care who got what out of the mix.

I'm fairly sure I've posted on this forum (and probably on this very thread) several times about the practicality of this wallet. I know I have posted multiple photos on TPF showing what can fit in it. Please read the threads first.

Hi, i have a black kelly wallet phw and moutarde kelly wallet phw on hold for me. Was thinking which one should i purchase? Initially was thinking to buy the one in moutarde, but at the same time am worrying whether the colour is high maintenance? Will it get dirtied easily, and colour gets darken after 2-3 years of usage? Anyone with pop colours can advise on this? TIA!
Black, classic, safe. Can be a tad boring.
Moutard absolutely fun but yes you are right to be concerned about darkening. You can maintain by sending it to the spa or clean it yourself from time to time with some leather cream. If the Moutard is in Epsom it makes maintenance a little easier.
