Kelly 25 or 28

To me they’re both casual colors so I would get the 28. If it was black or something like pink I’d get a sellier 25

Kelly 28! It's a more classic size that won't go out of fashion when larger bags come back in style. It also carries more stuff; the 25 seems restrictive. I also prefer the proportions on a 28, personally.
In epsom I think I'd prefer Etain, but either would be classic and stunning.

My personal opinion is that 28 is the best size for a Kelly and 30 is the best size for a Birkin. Both bag sizes avoid the small or large bag trends and are true classics.

If it's a Sellier, I'd go for the K25 - the K28 Sellier looks a bit boxy to me (sorry!)

And I'd pick Etain over Gold color.

Yes. To be honest, I’m not a fan of carrying a kelly in formal events (galas, balls, formal weddings/parties). Not even the 25. For a formal event, I would use a clutch like a kelly cut or Pochette.

I personally prefer 25 in etain as I am quite petite and I don’t carry much in my bags. Normally I just carry a compact wallet, keys holder, lipstick and a bag of compact hand wipes..
I know gold is a very popular colour but I personally don’t like it in sellier Kelly. Sellier Kelly is very structured and has a very formal look. With the colour gold, it just makes it even more formal..(I however love the b25 in gold!!)

Very interesting comments. I do think wether a bag looks formal or casual actually depends on the outfit. Technically a Sellier is more formal than a retourner but still... Some of these super bags ( and I will include Chanel Classic in this category) are real chameleons. I rarely go to formal events, but when I do - Then yes a small clutch is best.

Yes, 28 too large for a formal party. I love my 25s and 28s. If I had to choose 1, it would be 25 as it’s perfect day to night for a broad range of events/social situations. A great shoulder or hand held bag. 28 can go into evening but slightly large if it’s a cocktail or dressy gathering.

OP, what did you decide? My personal vote would be for 28. I have a 28 and it’s so small that I rarely use it, even though I am a size 00. I prefer stain over gold, but any of the combinations you select will be beautiful!

K28 gold epsel ghw.. when it arrived i was so happy, i’ve made the right decision.

I would go with K25 if its a sellier. For the retourne style, I think a 28 is perfect!
