I took mine off to check. I do not have those black spots. And the markings are closer to the nail tip. Have them exchange it!
I have the exact marks on mine in the same spot, they are hallmarks, I also have them on one of my Cartier necklaces.

I never had these two black marks on my other Cartier (rings & bracelets). I really love this JUC single earring, and it tooks me months to get it. If I have them exchange it, I'm afraid it's gonna take another few months...
I didn't even notice tbh, when I got mine a month ago I was so excited to put it on. I can't see them when worn, because it is on the inside so doesn't bother me. Also as I said I have the same marks on a necklace so it wouldn't have struck me as strange anyway.
It depends on the maker (where it’s made). Diff jewelers from cartier will mark it in diff spots. I’ve seen it on diff places in same style rings like the juc.
Joined the club with a set of the small JUC paired with a set of single love studs. The ball back is so perfect for a new piercing.
@pinksandblues the love studs are very comfortable because of the ball screw back. The only downside is the post is a bit long for my lobe so the screw doesn’t sit flush to my lobe. It’s not very noticeable but I know lol. I hear Cartier can shorten the post but I am leaving longer cuz I can easy clean my piercings with saline and a cotton swab. I have them in my back piercing so maybe in the main piercing will fit better. I believe these are meant for helix or other piercings so don’t have a snug fit. I really love both sets. Wish i had a helix cuz i think the just in clou one would look so good.
Yes, mine would be like this sometimes. Try to wear it the other way with the pin from the back, it will be better.
I wear mine from the back which helps a little but tbh these aren't like everyday wear earrings, I only put mine on when going out somewhere cause they do tend to get caught in my hair and other things.
I’ve had mine in my rook piercing for a couple years and I still catch it on things almost every day if I’m not careful. Same with my JUC bracelet. I guess I’m just used to it even though it does cause a little “ouch” moment.
