Just walked in .... There it was!! Stories of finding Birkins off the shelf

I saw two or three birkins (in size 25, 30 or 35) on the shelf in Vancouver downtown store. They also had 40 at the back.

An in Toronto, I saw kelly on the shelf but no birkin.

It is easier to get birkin and kelly in Canada because of its higher price compared to US and Europe.

Exactly a year ago at Hermes San Diego...my plan was to just pick up two small items an SA had held for me since my local H did not have these items in stock. I had every intention for it to be a 10 minute trip as I had my DH with me. As I walked in, I noticed another SA working with a woman and he was bringing out two large boxes for her. My heart started palpating as I knew from the size and shape of the boxes that there had to be Birkins inside....

Sure enough, out of the first he pulled a gold 40cm Birkin with PHW...beautiful bag, but not a size I loved. Then he reached for the second box and starts pulling out another bag. As soon as I saw it, I let out an audible shriek, it was the bag on the top of my wish list - a 35cm White Birkin PHW. Both the SA and woman immediately turned around and stared at me and I explained to them how much I've been wanting this bag. The woman lets out a smile and says, "Don't worry dear, I don't plan on buying this bag so it's yours if you want it." And the rest is history!

So not exactly "on the shelf" but there when I walked in the store :yahoo:

Ohhh, that was me! Hermes Ala Moana (Honolulu) - a very pregnant me checked that store and the one at Waikiki every other day during an approximately 3 week vacation. Waikiki had several in that time - including a raisin togo 35, a blue jean togo 35, a shadow birkin, and a rouge garrance epsom 35; my second try at Ala Moana, there it was...

A 35 togo alezan birkin that I took home and then proceeded to hide (in a suitcase - it was insane) from my mom, who was there with us.

I left Honolulu with a scarf, keychain, and bag, and since then, well, things have gone south when it comes to my self control and hermes.

Great stories everyone!

It was only my second time in an Hermes boutique and the first time in the one where I actually scored my Birkins. I walked in and immediately hit it off with the two SAs that were there. We talked for a bit about the horrible increases in price of Chanel bags with the decrease in quality and they admired my Bottega Veneta Moon Cabat.

A little later, she asked me if I wanted to see anything in particular? I told her no but that I would love to hear a little about everything. So, she walked me around the store and then asked if I would like to see a Birkin? I said sure. So, she went to the back and brought out a big orange box. It was a Gold Togo 35cm with PHW. I loved it but had no intention of buying a bag, let alone a Birkin, that day. I asked if I could think about it overnight as it was almost closing time. She said sure but call her ASAP in the morning with my answer as it would not be there long. I left and thought about it, prayed on it and decided to go back and get it! :graucho:

And then exactly one month later I called to check in on an enamel and she told me that they had just gotten in a Black 35cm with GHW. I took it without hesitation. I really love that my SA did not make me beg or play games.

I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with Hermes so far! :yahoo:

Maybe 1 day it will happen to me!! Though chances to visit Hermes store are few & far between as there Are no Hermes where I live.. So only on vacations do I get a chance to visit Hermes stores..

Am going to Dubai in a couple of weeks. Guess where I will be going first???:graucho::graucho:

Hilarious... Hiding it from your mom like that!!! In my case it would have been hiding it from the in-laws!!!

Bag farm .. If you don't mind my asking, how much does 35 cm B go for in Canada? Is the price still less than resellers out there??

My and my mom story,

Hermes finally opens a store in my city 2 years ago...when they 1st open, since the client base is not establish yet...so when we went in...the self is full of Birkins and Kelly...actually they had receive a lot of stocks at that time...still early last year, there would be always Birkins / Kellys on the shelf waiting to be adopted!! So my mom got her 1st Birkin (now it's mine...heheh) at the store open, it's a Orange Togo 40...luckily she did and got the relationship built ...since now they have the client base establish, Birkins and Kellys aren't on the self anymore:cry:
