I got my Iris 35 Togo from Hawaii. It wasn't on the shelf, I went there every single day, and the SA took it out from the back on the last day of my stay.

Hermes is so addictive, I'm hoping to find a Rubis & White 35 Togo. :D

I love this thread, please keep them coming. :tender:

This is how I got my first Birkin, my black 30 Togo. :D

We had gone to Paris for the day to try on bags so I could see whether I wanted to order a 30 or a 35 at home, and I had been very disappointed because I had seen exactly what I wanted at FSH (black, 30, PHW) but it was a 'display only' model and they didn't have any black 30 PHWs in stock. I was super disappointed, and after lunch, we decided to stop by George V to see the shop and to pick up something small and silky as a consolation prize.

When we went in, my attention was immediately attracted by a beautiful shiny red croc kelly, so I missed the fact that at the leather counter there was a negotiation going on where an SA was showing a a couple a Birkin. They walked away, and mum's sharp eye spotted it sitting unattended on the counter. She called me over to see it, when when I asked if the SA if the bag was for sale and she said yes... :D

You'd better bet that baby was coming home with me!

Good luck stories do happen, but I have been searching for the right Kelly for three years since to no avail...

Strangely, I realize have never purchased a birkin off the shelf, though I have seen one or two. They were all in sizes or colors that I did not want or need. My best luck has come from my favorite SA keeping tabs on what I have or don't have and giving me calls when she thinks something might interest me, then shipping by Fed Ex. I am pretty distant from Hermes shopping in any event.

Same happened to me on visits to NYC Madison boutique on Saturday mornings a number of years ago.

First was a 35 black Kelly with gold HW and second time was my black 35 Birkin with palladium HW.

I was, to say the least, stunned.

The first time my dad agreed to buy a croc birkin for my mom was 2009, after I told him about the shiny Bordeaux 35 birkin poro PH at the store on display.

At that time, my mom and I only purchased regular skin birkins.

I went home, described the beautiful color and my dad spontaneously said, why didn't you buy it?? I got Sooo happy! I could barely sleep that night because my mom agreed to go pick up that bag the very next morning. After all, how can a 40k bag sell in just one day?? The economy had not picked up that time. So my mom and I went the very next morning but it was sold :(. Btw, I strongly believe Victoria beckham was the one who purchase it because she was seen with it shortly after and she was shopping in BH the very same day I saw it.

Anyways. That was mid November 2009. Christmas was right around the corner. I went twice a week to the h store but no luck.

Then a few days after Christmas, on a day I was suppose to g to Disneyland with friends, but cancelled, I went with my parents to the h store.

I walked in saw a 35 dark colored birkin in the middle of the display wall. As I walked closer, I realized it was a matte croc! Havanne matte gator with GH to be exact. Boy was I excited! Of course my dad agreed. That was the first croc for my mom.

Since then, my mom has picked up two more: matter rouge h poro and shiny black poro. These two were from building a relationship but the first one was and always will be uber special :).

H is addicting. Really really addicting :).

Hope this inspires some to never give up :)
