I have no problem buying jewelry for myself. However, since my money is hubby's money and vice versa, when there is something I want, I make it "his" idea lol. It's coming out of the same pocket regardless, and he feels great buying me some thing I love, I get what I want-- it's a WIN WIN! :)

When my husband left me after 4 children and 30 years together, we met in school, I went out and bought myself a big diamond! I had always wanted an engagement ring so I took matters in my own hand so to say and bought an over 4 ct Cushion ring, diamond studs and diamond pear necklace, I wear this set every day and enjoy MY jewellery very much!

I love this! (I'm sorry that he left you, of course, but I know how this feels, so I love your sense of empowerment.) My ex left me after 10 years of marriage (15 years together) and one child. I've recently considered buying myself diamonds. After all, I waited 15 years and HE never did... I did without the engagement ring and big wedding because we were poor college students then.

I've been considering the Tiffany Harmony to start with... :graucho:

I definitely buy jewelry for myself from time to time! I do love that my boyfriend likes to spoil me with pieces every now and then, but sometimes you just can't wait around and you have to splurge on yourself! It always feels nice to be able to buy yourself a piece that you've been eying as well :)

I've bought most of my jewels for myself, though sometimes using birthday money given to me by family. I know my own style best and I enjoy the whole shopping experience and the choice.

Also I work hard for my own money - If I waited for a man to buy me things I'd have to go without!

I bought most of my jewelry. I tend to not use or wear something given to me when i am presently having an issue with the person who gave that to me. Since i love wearing jewelry, i do not want any piece to just sit on the box just because it is associated with a particular sad or painful memory.

Definitely agree about not wearing something if there's an issue with the one who gifted it! I have a gorgeous necklace my ex boyfriend have me but I can't bring myself to wear it.
