except for a few pieces I buy everything myself. I like to reward myself for goals reached, birthdays or just because! if I didn't buy myself jewellery I would not have the pieces I do and they definitely wouldn't be exactly what I wanted!

I buy my own jewelry. If I waited for a man to do it I'd be dead.
Smallish ticket items I buy for myself. The big ticket items, I wait for a holiday (anniversary, bday, Christmas) then buy it for myself on DH credit card and let him know what he got for me!

Yes, I buy my jewelry myself. So far the only piece of jewelry my husband bought for me was my amazing wedding ring (which is more than enough!). I've purchased my stud earrings, diamond RHR, and topaz necklace myself.
My boyfriend is very generous, but I still buy a lot of jewelry myself, especially when I've had a bad day and need something to cheer me up. Some bling always does the trick!
Whenever I do buy jewelry for myself, I seem to rarely wear it compared to the stuff that was gifted to me from my fam.
I have never purchased fine jewelry myself, but i have always directed people (my parents, my fiancé) to what i want. I have been present for every jewelry purchase made for me by my fiancé since our first anniversary in 2007. That was a hot mess that i couldnt deal with having a repeat of. LOVE HIM!!
I pick out all my jewelry, and when my husband asks me what I want for a birthday, etc., I just buy something and then show him what my present is! It takes away a lot of his stress in shopping for me (which would be impossible for anyone to pick out what I want!), and I get exactly what I want! I taught him this very early on as he gave me one surprise jewelry gift when we were dating long ago, and that was the end of that!
