I have never even touched or seen monk IRL. So this is about as exotic as it gets in my book. Congrats on your new, super rare lovely! Finally! Thanks to my kind Canadian buddy... I owe this little baby finding her way to me. New to my porch this morning, (I had no idea this leather was so lovely...) a fuzzy, sparkly 03 black Monk First. Heavier than chèvre, but worth every ounce..

Sparkly, you sayAhhh. Thank you!❤️ I’ve been searching for one of these ever since I realized they existed. I’ve seen one other that was very worn, so much so, that most of the sparkly finish was gone. So very surprised and tickled that this is how they are meant to look.
It is very different than our delicate leathers. As I mentioned, it is heavier, and also pretty thick. Seems sturdy. Except I believe the sparkly finish can deteriorate.I have never even touched or seen monk IRL. So this is about as exotic as it gets in my book. Congrats on your new, super rare lovely!
News to me, but I'll adopt it.Very pretty and unusual color. Elephant is perfect. Am I the only one who thinks elephants are good luck? Or is it common knowledge?

I believe it is called crackled suede.Interesting and apt way to describe it. I’ve been trying to find more info on this type of leather. Coming up empty when using the “Monk,” term. Anyone know if there is a more precise name for this kind of suede?
Thank you. I saw yours when I was researching this color.Congrats on adding this beautiful color to your collection. I think BL is very special. We are bag twins — my BL City was my first Bbag ever. I haven’t used mine in awhile — seeing yours is inspiring me to take mine out soon, maybe next week/month
. Enjoy.
