Another happy dilemma here! I have decided to order a custom Saint Clair mini pouch.

Trying to envision bleu harmonie leather with matte black hardware — what do we think? And white vs same color stitching? Need some advice, please
I love the idea of blue and black matte hardware. I would go with tonal stitching though. I think white might be a little too busy on such a small item.

For now, matte black hardware can only be ordered for exotic pieces. I’m on my phone so it’s quite difficult for me to point out the exact page, but you can look for the post on this thread where Ramesh himself mentioned that when I asked him about matte black hardware pairings.

Just an update on my Fontelie, for anyone who has followed this saga lol. I sent it back to the atelier two weeks ago. They received it Nov 7. There was a problem with DHL that initially resulted in the bag being returned to me - not JD's fault, it was DHL being horrible. JD confirmed they received the bag and sent it to the craftspeople for inspection. I haven't heard back yet on the status of repair.
In the meantime, they did send me a lovely perfume as recompense for my trouble, which was a nice gesture. I'm hoping to hear back about the bag's status soon, as I am eager to receive it back and actually use it for more than the mere week I had with it so far!
DHL — 😡!!!!! I can’t get over the issues I’ve had with that company. Crushed boxes, held-up deliveries and returns, E-mail spam, and more.

So how ‘bout the weather?
Just kidding. Does anyone have a 2024 Wishlist they’d like to share?

—My Wishlist—
• JD Diane L26 in Ardoise
• Moynat Gabrielle pm in Bourbon
• JD Lectoure tote in Black or Blue (?)
• A Harry Winston piece (necklace, earrings, or bracelet)
• A black bag — I’ll know it when I see it. It’ll sing to me!!!!
• maybe a JD Diane messenger in Brique
• Peter Nitz Newey 30. Maybe this’ll be the black bag w/ a pop color interior.

jD Diane clutch or Moynat Gabrielle clutch in silver hardware. I happen to like ardoise color too. It looks gorgeous in lizard skin from a competitor. Otherwise, a matte alligator in black with silver hardware. Hope they read this and will create some in the future. :) I was wondering though why they never sell the exotic pcs online.

I really appreciate your concerns. Although, I can assure there are plenty of discreet scarves from Hermes.

So Barenia is the brand name of Hermes and I am the one who should educate myself on leathers and tanneries?

BARENIA® is a trademark of Haas Tanneries (serial number 79126207), other trademarks of Haas are NOVONAPPA®, NOVOCALF®, SUPORTLO®, BARANIL®. Haas is not owned by Hermes.
So those "same leathers" are quite literally "Barenia® dupes". Maybe close enough for some, I would prefer the original.

Again, thank you for suggesting not to look at Joseph Duclos further. FYI, there was a moment I almost ordered a Saint-Claire pouch, because of the simplicity. Of course, that was before I found out Joseph Duclos heritage is nothing but smoke and mirrors. I simply don't like to be duped by young IG brands, that's all.
Hi there - out of curiosity, have you had the chance to actually feel and examine Joseph Duclos’s leathers in person? If not, I’d recommend checking them out before ruling the brand out completely (and no, I’m not being paid LOL). They had a showcase in NYC where I was able to actually feel and interact with the leathers, and I was quite impressed. (I have 1 bag and 1 on the way). The quality was exquisite. Of course, I’m no leather expert, but from my amateur assessment of their leather by comparison to other top line brands, like Delvaux, Moynat, Hermes, etc., they certainly can hang. No pressure or course, but I’d curious your thoughts after seeing them in person. There is also a youtuber, Anesu Segundo, who has made some videos on JD, you might want to check her too, if you fancy.

-Just a lover of quality leather bags :)

Hi, which JD do you have on the way? I emailed CS early this month and it seems a lot of the bags are preorder right now!

Hi! The Diane 20L in Châtaignier, heritage leather. The store told me about 2 weeks ago that they had 4 bags coming back from the artillery in the next 3 weeks, so I expect the bag to arrive at the store in the next week, go through quality check, then my arms :) . There certainly are a lot of bags in preorder!

Ooh, can’t wait to see your pictures! Lovely choice!

I agree. To me, the main issue is the use of 1754 in part of the branding. This implies the company has been in continuous existence since 1754, when it actually has not. It's a bit misleading. It's all part of a marketing strategy from a young company.

This. 1754 ruins the whole concept of the brand for me. Much more than aggressive adds.
The strategy of using the logo of a tannery (a chemical industry facility) closed 60 years before Delvaux patented the first handbag and somehow making people believe in their "heritage" is just beyond me. Why? If the strategy was to grab the attention by the endless adds and push to an impulsive purchase, then maybe.
But like I said, no reputable source would ever buy this "1754" thing and won´t consider them older than Hermes, Moynat or Delvaux, so I don´t see this brand going anywhere "reputable" in the long term. And that what should be a distinctive trait of high end brands, they care about the reputation more than about the profits.
