I (badly) photoshopped the chestnut Diane L20 to have contrast stitching and palladium-plated hardware

And I prefer this one. It takes away some of the bling factor because the eyes are diverted to the stitches and the shape of the bag. I also think it brings out the richness of the leather more.
I think the white stitching adds a casual vibe. Very nice.

Maybe not as a general offering but as a special order, for those who really like it.

I love that you created an account today and your first post is to just to point out something that has already been said before
 I had an account here for a while (now deleted like most of my social networks as too distractive). Atm I have more time to spend again
Well, maybe because that´s pretty obvious. Celine also has it as a messenger bag on a strap, another amusing coincidence.

Now that´s basically a Celine 16
I doubt Joseph Duclos will do it, Celine bag came out before and the "inspiration" is already a bit obviousView attachment 5880721.

I own this color Celine 16 and would buy the Diane with contrast stitching and PHW with no hesitation. They have a completely different look/feel to me. The current version of the Diane in this color has the same feel as the C16, so although I love it, it’s a hard pass as it would be too redundant in my collection.

Agree. Completely different.

Plus, the Diane doesn’t have metal feet, which makes it more challenging to make since the artisan has to make sure the front and back leathers are aligned. Otherwise it will wobble.

Is the implication here that Duclos knocked off Celine? Because I don't think that's quite fair. There are certain common handbag shapes and configurations. The spin each designer puts on them is what makes them different.

I´ve seen Celine 16 with palladium HW, but looks like for now it´s just for the black version.
And... they recently released over a dozen of lizard and croc variations for Celine 16. One more coincidence

Agree. Completely different.

That´s the big size of Celine 16. The small, comparable size version is below.

No implications. It´s purely chronological: one bag (2018) appeared a couple of years earlier than the other (2021).

You perceive them as different, as you know both in detail. But I think, if people see someone with Diane (even most of the "bag people" I would say), they would much rather think that person is wearing a Celine not a Diane.
